After Jamiel Shaw's son, Jamiel Shaw Jr., was killed back in 2008, there was a splash of media attention mourning the senseless murder of a young man on the right path. Then came a long, dark silence when it seemed that the world forgot.
But Donald Trump, who Shaw believes was "sent from God," didn't forget.
Last year, the Republican presidential candidate contacted Shaw to talk about the tragedy, in which Shaw's 17-year-old son was killed while walking home. Two Hispanic men had waylaid him, demanding to know what gang he was in. The young man, a star football player with a bright future, did not reply immediately. He was then shot by a gunman who was in the U.S. illegally.
"Since my son was dead, I pretty much gave up on being happy," Shaw said.
Then came a surprise. Trump asked to meet with Shaw in person.
"To see somebody, especially a billionaire, come out. I can't even get a neighborhood politician to come out, that's why it's so surreal to me," Shaw said.
They met. Shaw talked about his son. Trump made a pledge.
"He told me to my face, he said, 'I promise you I would never let your son's life be in vain.' To me it felt like the (future) president cared about me," Shaw said.
Shaw said he had never contacted the Trump campaign, but has since guessed that someone in the campaign saw an interview Shaw did on Fox News.
Shaw said Trump's immigration policy runs far deeper that just border security.
"People are looking at immigration as just an immigration issue, but people are dying. It's a fact. What good is the economy, healthcare, going to school, if people are dying?" Shaw asked. "Trump is doing things he doesn't have to do. He can buy a whole island and get away from crime."
He said his meeting with Trump, which eventually led to Trump's campaign using his son's murder in an ad, changed him.
"This was the first time I thought everything's really gonna be all right. To me, he was sent from God," said Shaw.

He's straight shooter and good man. Jamiels mother was serving in Iraq at the time of his murder.

Yes, it’s a fact that illegal aliens (and even legal aliens) commit murder, rape, DUI, assault and just about every other evil crime imaginable at higher rates than JIHADISTS do.

I genuinely sympathize with people who come to America in search of better opportunity. I would probably do the same thing under similar circumstances. But what I would never do is work tirelessly to change America into the same type of $#*+hole from whence I escaped.

John and Ken of KFI in LA did cover Jamiel Shaw for a very long time. They did very well by this family. And I’m glad they opened my eyes to this evil, which we see again and again - those cases in San Francisco, etc. - illegals murdering. Add in all the illegals killing people by driving drunk here with no license.
Donald Trump is our ONLY chance to stop this tide. Thank Gd for Trump and may he stay healthy.
Before I donate again, I need to know that someone at FR is going to “fix the broken typewriter.” I think we do pay enough to have that problem fixed. Let me repeat...DONALD TRUMP was the first candidate to meet with and give a RIP about the families of victims of illegal aliens.
A month after Trump announced his run and had met with these families, Cruz FINALLY noticed they existed! WHERE WAS HE ALL THESE YEARS????
I promise you that Jamiel Shaw’s family and others had been begging Cruz for YEARS to notice!
