Donald Trump: Ted Cruz 'Is Like a Little Baby'
CNN/Gant Daily ^ | 1 hour ago | staff

Posted on 02/23/2016 2:40:15 PM PST by drewh

Donald Trump on Tuesday called his GOP presidential rival Ted Cruz “a baby” as he dug in on his attacks against the Texas senator, one day after calling Cruz “sick.”

“I’ve met much tougher people than Ted Cruz. He is like a baby compared to some of the people I have to deal with. He is like a little baby: soft, weak, little baby by comparison,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Sparks, Nevada, after slamming Cruz yet again as “the single biggest liar I have ever dealt with.”

Trump later added, “I’d like to really win in Texas. Wouldn’t that be great? I love Texas. I love Texas. And I think now that (Cruz) has exposed himself as a nasty person who lies a lot, I think he’s going to go way, way down in Texas. So I think we have a shot in Texas.”

A message left with the Cruz campaign seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Trump has leveled an unrelenting barrage of personal attacks against Cruz, calling him everything from “unstable” to a “basket case” and accusing him of lying while also touting the Bible.

The attacks come as Cruz and his allies have laid into Trump’s stances on a number of issues important to conservatives, from Trump’s use of eminent domain laws for personal gain to the New York billionaire’s past support of abortion rights and additional gun control measures.

Trump has since changed his positions on abortion and gun rights.

And while Cruz’s ads use Trump’s own words against him, Trump has accused him of playing dirty.

The latest attack is reminiscent of Trump’s line of attack against former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, whom Trump branded as “low energy” over months of campaigning.

But with Bush now out of the race, Trump is looking for space to fill in his stump speech, which previously included multiple references to Bush’s “weak” nature — an effective foil for Trump’s brashness on the campaign trail.

He hinted at a potential target on Tuesday when he said “Marco Rubio is a nice young man.”

“He hasn’t hit me. No, no, no, he has not hit me. When he hits me, ugh, is he going to be hit. Actually, I can’t wait,” Trump said. “I hope he does (get nasty) because it’s more fun.”

A Trump presidency is inevitable. There is no more popular candidate in the Republican party and Hillary or Sanders will be buried deeper than Mondale was in 1984. I'm not so naive as to think that someone other than Trump will be sworn in come January 2017.

That said, Trump is repeatedly demonstrating that he lacks the decorum and even the wisdom to be the President that this country needs. Instead we are getting the President that we deserve to have, after decades of progressively settling for less and less. We wanted to win more than we wanted wise leadership.

Trump will win this November. Of that there is little doubt. But we may come to regret that.

WORTH REPEATING:

Trump will need to work with Cruz if he gets elected.

""No he won't. He has already said he will work with the Republican leadership in the Senate, unlike Cruz. On the off chance that he doesn't get destroyed by Hillary as all of the polls are indicating, he will be working AGAINST Cruz to further the McConnell/Ryan agenda""""....

Good job Nitzy

Can’t wait for Cruz to be the vote that convicts Trump of high crimes and misdemeanors. It will happen.

I agree, I came to realize that Conservatism is an exercise few in the population can fully grasp since it required thought and conviction. But in an age of reality TV and low information voter, the ability for citizens to recognize it and more importantly exercise it is unfortunately slipping further and further away. Trump has become the new mantra in politics: a man devoid of conviction, capable of furthering his political ambitions through sloganeering and bumper sticker policies that a 4th grader can appreciate, guided only by his own sense of self-importance. Bref a man so immersed in his own banality and ego that people are awed by the celebrity and not the character of the man. Like you so aptly put it, "We are doomed by the plurality of morons" .

I sincerely wished I was born in another era.

I saw that part of the rally, I have seen it in other rallies, too. The thing is there is a ;) that you miss when you hear it on the radio or just read about it. The people at the rallies get it and laugh along with Trump. But the message is clear: If anyone hits Trump he will hit back hard. Furthermore, the message is as president he will fight anyone opposing the best interests of the people.

He intimidates with lawsuits and the threat of a lawsuit. Doesn't work against a lawyer but in his past he has done it so much that...

Nothing has changed much...1983 NYT...

"His alternating skills of charming some individuals and riding roughshod over others has earned Donald Trump a reputation in some quarters as someone not to be trusted. He reneged, for example, on a promise to donate to a museum the Art Deco bas- reliefs on the facade of Bonwit Teller's - bulldozed to make way for Trump Tower. It was a sin deemed unforgivable by landmark preservationists. But the only negative comments about Donald Trump these days are given off the record."

No he doesn't, but his audience and supporters do. Courtesy of our new fangled Education System.

In Donalds case is would be called Delusional Grandeur

WIKI

Delusional Grandeur characterized by fantastical beliefs that one is famous, omnipotent, wealthy, or otherwise very powerful.

Delusions of grandeur are a subtype of delusion that occur in patients suffering from a wide range of mental illnesses, including two-thirds of patients in manic state of bipolar disorder, half of those with schizophrenia.

I haven’t seen him defend anything but his own interests as in giving money to Schumer, Clinton, and Reid. Trump has already sold out America. Being President only makes the prize larger.
