It's Over; Trump Is Going To Be The Republican Nominee
CNN ^ | 02/24/2016 | Mel Robbins

That leaves Rubio and Cruz. Neither one of them can beat Clinton, or Trump for that matter. Yes, Cruz captured Iowa, but he is too scary for moderate Republicans and independents. And the GOP "establishment" can hope that with Jeb gone, Rubio will scoop up enough non-Trump votes to cruise to a victory, but that's not happening either. After Cruz and Trump grab their share of the undecided, there won't be enough left to give Rubio the bump he needs to pass Trump.

Last summer, I gave you five reasons why so many Americans loved Trump and why he would go the distance. Notice, four of the five points cemented his path to the Republican nomination. At the time, the seasoned political commentators and pundits just rolled their eyes at me. Now they're predicting a win.

1. He's real.

2. He doesn't care what you think.

3. Many Americans hate Washington.

4. It's early (null).

5. You want to see him debate.

I agree, it’s over.

Congrats to Trump.

The GOPe is all in for Rubio and they will stick with him all the way to the end hoping between Cruz and him they can keep Trump from garnering 1,237 votes and even then they will try to stuff Rubio down his throat for VP.

They will never, ever give up and might have to go along with Trump until 2020.

The big question now is can Trump beat Hillary? Polling shows no but things will have to change or we will be calling President Clinton for another 8 years.

>>>The more trump talks the more i find it very hard to vote for him

I agree to an extent...he should back off the attacks on candidates he will need...and start to focus on Hillary and Bernie.

That being said...even though we (my wife and I) voted for Cruz...ANY so-called conservative that will not vote for Trump and allows Hillary or worse...Bernie...to become president should be shot....and I'm not exaggerating....they should be executed for treason. This is a BROKEN GLASS election. We MUST NOT have Hillary or Bernie as president. THIS ELECTION IS A FIRE WALL. If we lose it...we've lost the country. It is likely that we've lost it anyway...but if 2016 foes dim...it is OVER. PERIOD.

God have mercy on any conservative that stays home...'cause I sure won't.

“He might win the primaries with 35% support but in the general he is going to have to kiss and make up with the other 65%.”

Are you saying 65% of the GOP is so delicate and sensitive that they need an apology or arse-kissing in order to NOT vote for Hillary? Seriously? I don’t agree.

The more trump talks the more i find it very hard to vote for him.

It's easy...

1. Trump
2. Hillary

Pick one.

Then Hillary will be the next President. There is far too much out there to use against Trump, including his endorsements of her, that she, unlike Cruz, Rubio, Bush, etc. will not hesitate to use.

Good. Let 'em. Right now they carry a pen knife...and a dull one at that. Gone are the days when they were Crocodile Dundee and Hannibal Lector rolled into one. They only people who listen to them anymore are hard-core leftists...and they won't vote Trump anyways.

Cruz would be dissected by the media...because they know he won't hit back. At least with Donald...you know when they come at him with that little knife...he's gonna throat punch 'em.

“Put America First, and you rule the map.... what a concept.”

What, wait, what?! Put America First, BEFORE party? Are you kidding? That’s blasphemy to some.

I happen to agree with you and that’s exactly what Trump is doing. He has kids and grandkids that will be living here long after he is gone. He doesn’t need this crud. He’s doing what he thinks is right and saying what he thinks is right and it is resonating with a large portion of America.

Trump doesn’t have to change a thing. He’s winning, BIG!

He is not doing himself any favors by attacking the other candidates the way he is.

You'll like it well enough when all his attacks are focused on the presumptive Democrat nominee and her supporters.

Yep and Trump tells them in advance he’s going to do that! Then when he does it, the competition cries about it. How smart is that?

That is an ignorant statement. At this time in 1980...Carter was beating Reagan.

The dim base is very demoralized...and no amount of anti-Trump news will get them to vote in the numbers they did for BHO. You are buying into the inside the beltway spin. People are pissed...and Trump beats Hillary with 400 e-votes...and probably 56-58% of the vote. Bank on it.

Yes, I love your tagline and it’s 100% true.

The detractors can say what they want to justify their view, but in the end they are leftist supporters.

Super Tuesday is not far off, I guess it is safe to predict that Trump will dominate.

It was the perfect opportunity to nominate a real conservative to run against the big government candidate Hillary or Bernie.

Once again, it looks like we'll balk and nominate a big government guy of our own.

Once again we'll be trying to convince the voters that our big government guy is better than their big government guy.

Once again, neither major party will be running a candidate who has any intention of shrinking the role and power of government in our lives.

But we're supposed to be excited that we might "WIN!" this time. Whoopdeedo. Here we are, once again.

Funny you suggest that he cannot win the general.
His speech this weekend in Atlanta had a lot of what I would call independent voters fed up with Dems.

I think this will be a landslide.

This is part of what is wrong with Politics.... in the real world you take your lumps, and move on. There is no time for petty jealousy and ego when there is work to be done, you have to swallow your pride and move on.

Politics you don’t, which is insane.

I don’t have to like someone to work with them for a common goal, I’ve had to work with folks I personally hate, and that have wronged me in the past, yet when it came to doing the job, I did what I was supposed to do, didn’t act like a little kid whining that I don’t like this person or they wronged me in the past.

If folks are going to hold grudges, that’s on them. Politics is blood sport, not romper room. If you can’t deal with losing or having your feelings hurt, then go back to preschool.

I am not worried, the Party will either come to its senses, or completely collapse.... either way, its a better result long term, even if it means short term chaos. The days of the NEOCON, Free Trade, Open Border, Stalwarts is over... if the party can’t accept or adapt to that reality, it deserves to die.

The Trump can’t win the general argument is laughable. Trump wins every demographic, across the board. He’s going to get easily 20% of registered Democrats in the general election... the diseffected blue dogs who the Obama’s and Hillarys of the world ignore.

If anyone thinks that you can put Hillary up against Trump and Hillary will win, you haven’t been paying attention. Does anyone, anyone think you can put shrill old Hillary behind a podium on one side, and Trump behind a podium on the other then have a 2 or 3 hour unfiltered live “debate” between the two, and think Hillary is going to win that, they have not been paying attention.

Trump is going to break open the map in a way that hasn’t been done in nearly 30 years. It won’t be an 84 landslide, but it will be a bigger margin and state victory than the US has seen in a long long time.
