While he wasn't born in the US, he was raised here since he was 2 or 3 years old and presumably has a completely American experience. This argument probably won't wash.

Well, unless he was raised in an orphanage, his parents, who raised him, could in *no way* raise him with American cultural values. In the 1960s, India was a socialist country.

Are Dinesh D'Souza and Bobby Jindal socialists? Russia and Eastern Europe were communist for much of the 20th century. Are immigrants from those countries also suspect? Why not judge people based on their records rather than their ancestry? The racism is getting pretty thick on FR.
