We know what it looks like under Obama and have a really good idea of what it would look like under Hillary or Bernie - don't really need to ponder much beyond that unless Cruz rebounds - then the trick will be getting folks that aren't hard-core conservatives to vote for him.

Either way - whichever it is will be getting both barrels from all sides and it will take some "eternal vigilance" to keep a handle on it through the General.

Under Trump with the borders effectively sealed and the Mexican government actively patrolling their side, the question of dealing with the hordes of illegals will become apparent.

With a military given a free hand to act enemies will die. Dead enemies don’t make war.

The problem will be the depression induced by a trade war that effectively destroys the world economy.

Donald Trump has not been my first choice. That would be Ted Cruz. But Trump has impressed me with the competent, even brilliant, way he has run his candidacy. He has also done pretty well with his businesses. This is a good sign that he would be a competent administrator as president. I believe he is a patriot who loves his country. I would surely support and vote for Trump if he is the nominee.

If that what Calderon is saying, and I suspect it is, then Mexico will have earned a Black Jack Pershing treatment.

We should invade the northern part and declare a new border somewhere north of Mexico City. We then sponsor an independent northern Mexico state, hang the drug smugglers and install a U.S. friendly government.

Most of the best Mexicans I've met in my life come from the entrepreneurial north of the country, especially around Monterrey. Car assembly plants designated for the U.S. market are also located that general area. Mexico City and southward are mostly populated by the indolent and government bureaucrat parasites who live off bribes and taxes.

nothing about cherishing family values like man/woman marriage, pro-life, American’s Christian heritage.

Trump is not a conservative unless he supports these.

“his election, as such, would also be without precedent. “

So as George Washington’s.

Trump will make patriotism popular again—look to see more flags flying in Trump’s America. I think his USA will look more like Teddy Roosenvelts—with a new “Great White Fleet” and a new interest in American History. I think he will drive the nails into the coffin of PC. Jobs will comeback even if he is forced to use Tariffs to do so. Dramatic Change is coming—real change—not symbolic.

Boy, I sure agree with you on the talent part, it amazes that quite a lot of people think Kanye has any.

As far as money, his wife is pretty successful at making it; and, who knows maybe in a decade, Kanye’s fortune will follow the path of his hero, Jay Z.

George Washington was born in Virginia, not Canada.

I intend to of course but the OP was about the unprecedented nature of a Donald Trump Presidency and I felt it was only fair to respectfully mention the unprecedented nature of a Ted Cruz Presidency as well.

The counterpoints about our forefathers who were "citizens at the time of the adoption of the constitution" and Chester A. Arthur are predictable but pretty weak IMO. Ted Cruz's situation is NOTHING like George Washington's or Chester A Arthur's. nothing.

Washington was born in the British Colony of Virginia. He was grandfathered in by the constitution.
