Who cares if Russia establishes an empire? It’s not America’s problem.
America neither needs nor wants a war with our former allies the Russians. They are not aiding and abetting an Islamic caliphate. The consequences of Turkish choices summed up in Erdogan are likely to include Kurdistan as a recognized nation and, perhaps, international status for Constantinople depending on how far Turkey pushes Russia.
Who cares if Russia establishes an empire? It’s not America’s problem.

Absolutely, and perhaps they can bring some order to a sadly disordered area. Putin, at least will respect the artifacts of Western Civ.
