My take-away was surprise at Cruz. I don’t think he helped himself at all. He filled the same slot Jeb! was in last time.

Truth of the matter is Trump, Rubio and Cruz looked like immature clowns tonight. Kasich and Carson actually did the best tonight. Not that that is changing anything.
They gravitate to him just like Democrats to Obama. It’s a win for the cult of personality.
My impression from the comments, is that the ‘debate’ was little more than a playground brawl, and that neither Cruz or Rubio scored the sort of game changing knockout punch that would catapult them into Trump’s territory.
Exactly, when you go after the King, you have to kill the king, otherwise its over. Neither Rubio or Cruz killed the King tonight. With Cruz going on how Trump donates to crooked politicians, Trump replies “I gave you money.” Boom down goes Cruz.
Rubio came off as a yippy dog wearing a very nice collar. I knew about the Polish worker thing reading about it last summer. A nothing burger. If I remember correctly, it was the unions that were upset cause they didn’t get the job so some money had to slipped to the unions to make them happy. The Poles were paid minimum wage of the day ($5/hr) whatever. Were they brought in as illegals or on a visa type thing. I don’t remember one way or another.

But that is what the Reality TV people want. They do not want a REAL president.
They want one that PLAYS like a _resident off of a reality TV show. One that bolsters, shouts and generally has a big mouth. Can call anybody anything they want.
I tried an little experiment the other day. I acted just like Trump here on FR. Every post I made I ridiculed the other posters who were Trump supporters. I called them names like stupid, morons, dumb. All the words Trump uses EVERY day of the week against people that disagree with him.
You know what. The Trump supporters got MAD at me.
Yeah, they hated those words but when Trump used them it was OKAY but when I used them they got defensive and fired back at me saying what an obnoxious person I was. Hey, I was just aping their candidate. Their HERO and SAVIOR, Donald J Trump.

If you want to be a leader, then it helps to be able to inspire people to follow your lead.
Trump is succeeding in doing that, the others are not, and they aren’t actually capable of it.
The other four people on that stage don’t have any innate leadership skills or qualities.
