Who can beat Trump? Not Rubio. Not Cruz. Not the GOP.
The Week ^ | 2/25/2016 | Michael Brendan Dougherty

The conservative movement is in an angry mood. They want Marco Rubio as their standard bearer very badly. They are vowing to fight Donald Trump's nomination all the way to the convention. Because Trump is a Democrat in disguise, they say. He's a demagogue, injecting bilious poison into the body politic. For the good of the country, for the soul of their movement, for the very survival of the principles which impelled them into politics, he must be opposed relentlessly. People are quoting Hannah Arendt these days; the stakes are that high.

While the movement is reaching for pickaxes and putting on war paint, its putative leader Marco Rubio is distressingly nonchalant. Asked about why he isn't attacking Trump, Rubio replied: "I didn't run for office to tear up other Republicans." Not exactly the desperation of a man who thinks the Republic is about to be lost to barbarous populism.

While Rubio may believe he can delay and defer the fight forever, the rest of the party beyond the conservative movement seems to be giving up.

Ted Cruz has had a very awkward time transitioning from Donald's pal to his chief critic. "I like Donald Trump. He's a friend of mine. I'm grateful that he's in the race," he said last year. He told donors that his strategy has been to "bear hug" Trump and a debate audience that he would hire Donald Trump to build a wall on the southern border. His attempt to smear Trump as embodying "New York values" seems to have worked in Iowa and nowhere else. Ever since, Cruz has been flummoxed by lawsuits from his "friend" challenging his eligibility to run for president.

Now, Jeb Bush's voters seem to be defecting to Trump.

Cruz already has beaten Trump. He is the only one who has.

And Cruz pointed out some of Trump's significant weaknesses in going up against the democrats in the general election.

God.

Mark 8:36-37 (KJV)

36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

In a post debate interview on CNN Cruz said he or MARCO would make a better president than Donald Trump. That's some consistent conservative there. Wow.

This is a forecast that will give you pause because of the number of times it's been CORRECT since 1912.

The ONLY time this forecast, has been incorrect when applied, was ONCE, which was in 1960.

This is a PROFOUND PREDICTION

Political science professor forecasts Trump as general election winner
The Statesman  | February 23, 2016 | Christopher Cameron

A professor of political science at Stony Brook University has forecasted that Donald Trump has a minimum 97 percent chance of winning the general election as the Republican nominee.

Professor Helmut Norpoth's forecast presentation took place Monday evening in the SUNY Global Center in Manhattan, which was organized by the Stony Brook Alumni Association.

Norpoth created a statistical model of presidential elections that uses a candidate's performance in their party's primary and patterns in the electoral cycle as predictors of the presidential vote in the general election.

Donald Trump has a 97 percent chance of defeating Hillary Clinton and a 99 percent chance of defeating Bernie Sanders in the general election, according to Norpoth's formula.

"The bottom line is that the primary model, using also the cyclical movement, makes it almost certain that Donald Trump will be the next president," Norpoth said, "if he's a nominee of the [Republican] party."

Norpoth's primary model works for every presidential election since 1912, with the notable exception of the 1960 election. These results give the model an accuracy of 96.1 percent.

The SEC primary result is going to totally destroy Trump’s opposition. Trump is no longer just a candidate he is a vessel for a bloodless revolution and I’ll be really surprised if this Trump wave doesn’t crash like a tsunami on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Now if the GOP is smart they will want to be a part of this tsunami because it will likely be even bigger than Obama’s. The thing that the GOP-E doesn’t want is this tsunami to sweep them under it. So far the RNC has been fairly clandestine in their machinations and almost pragmatic. Priebus hasn’t been foolish like some who have been mauled to irrelevancy by the 500lb grizzly that is Trump.

Those who think they are going to smear and ridicule Trump away should be thankful because at this point any major dirty tricks campaign that is successful would totally rip the GOP apart. I don’t think that is going to happen. I don’t think any dirty trick is going to take Trump down and after next Tuesday if he sweeps or has a near sweep of the SEC states he’s going to win Florida and Ohio and after that its as good as over even if he comes in 2nd in Texas which there is no guarantees of that given the wide range of polling though I really do think Cruz has a solid lead in Texas where Rubio and Kasich do not in Florida and Ohio. If Cruz loses Texas its a big fat juicy cherry on top of Trump’s list of wins but even if Cruz wins Texas its going to be almost impossible to stop Trump.

The author isn’t in touch with planet earth — “conservatives want Rubio?!” Haha. Name just one. (I’m not campaigning against him. My comment is directed at the kind of bs that political writers apparently actually get paid to write ???!? Can I get paid as a science commentator if I write: “ The moon is made of green cheese!”?????)

He won the debate this evening by having them all play in his sandbox.

We must trust him to understand the promises he made to us to have Congress play in his sandbox as well.

He is a tough guy that can be swayed by common sense and nothing else.

Congress is about to go old school in my opinion. They are gutless but as soon as somebody takes over, here we go.

GEAR UP AMERICA!
