Ted Cruz said late Thursday that rival Marco Rubio would make a better president than Republican front-runner Donald Trump.
"Marco is not my enemy, Marco and I are friends. Marco and I would both make a much better candidate and a much better president than would Donald," Cruz told CNN's Jake Tapper after Thursday's Republican debate.
"I like Donald personally. He's a charming guy, although he can turn on you in an instant," Cruz continued.
Did you notice that? Because I noticed that Trump waited patiently until his turn to speak and never interrupted anyone. They all interrupted him during his time, but he didn’t do the same to them.
Rubio was doing that all night. They’d attack Trump and then continually interrupt during Trump’s response. We can agree to disagree though. This thing’s going to be nearly over after Tuesday anyway. Either Trump becomes inevitable, or he crashes and burns on Tuesday. Hence the full court press we’ve seen in the last 24 hours.
Glad someone else saw it. That’s what flipped my daughter from Rubio to Trump. Every time Trump tried to respond, Rubio would talk over him. Also my kid thought that the screeching woman in the audience who screamed every time Rubio said something was a plant and a turn off.
Honestly, I think the screeching woman had the most affect on her decision.
Good for her. I decided to sit back and watch her make her own decision, and she seems to be coming around.
Rubio is nothing more than Obama-lite.
He’s for massive immigration (including the false claim that it would be unconstitutional for us to limit Muslim immigrants), amnesty with not only legalization but citizenship.
His “replacement” of Obamacare is really just Obamacare clothed a little differently: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/431935/marco-rubio-healthcare-individual-mandate
Rather than a GOP-type cut in taxes, he’d have only the slightest of trims—with a big child-care tax credit added in.
He was the 60th vote for TPP, leading to TPA.
He’s for the Obama-advocated expansion of government lending for college—with the Obama-style limits to the length of time and percent of income that any borrower would have to extend themselves to pay their loans back—largely dumping it on taxpayers—both for previously contracted and future student loans.
Trump’s healthcare plan is far more free market oriented. As is his tax plan and his immigration plan.
Trump is for defending our national sovereignty over the supernational “trade” agreements that Rubio has advanced.
That Cruz says he’d support Rubio over Trump (and that Rush spent a couple of weeks this month plumping Rubio as a “conservative”) says a lot about Rubio and Rush.
Well, there you go. The âanti Washington cartelâ guy has thrown in with the Washington cartel.

Well the alternative is a lifelong lib who is a pathological liar and crony capitalist.
Trump has done a lot more than that. He was a national fundraiser for Reagan. He has advocated free market solutions in his books for years. He has the best tax plan of any candidate. He would replace Obamacare with a free market solution (when Rubio, for example, wouldn’t). You can see old video clips of Trump 20 years ago giving essentially the same speech re: trade, free markets and the military as he is giving today.
WHY? What happened to Cruz?
Is this another creative media editing? 24/48 hour rule?
What I noticed about Trump last night is that he talks over people and interrupts them so that they canât make their arguments until the time runs out. Itâs the same tactic liberals use on news shows when they canât win an argument.

Good observation! Just watching Fox News I’ve seen that from: Geraldo, Juan W., Lanny Davis, Goolsby and numerous other libs they have as paid contributors or guests. Few of the FNC anchors ever shut them up, other than BOR and Hannity. The libs just keep jacking their jaws like Trump and eat up all of the allotted time for the segment.
That’s really funny, all they did was give Trump a taste off his own medicine. Apparently he can only dish it out but he can’t take it.
Yes, Cruz was backing Rubio.

He was only indicating Rubio would be a lesser evil than Trump. He was not endorsing Rubio.
I thought he handled it fine. He kept his composure. It’s going to be an onslaught between now and Tuesday. So we’ll see how it goes.
Trump already has 82 delegates. That’s a lot more than double what Ted and Rube have.
LOL You are joking right.
Rubio looked like a petulant child or a little Chihuahua who could only nip at the ankles.
“Many Cruz supporters I know and on FR feel the same.”
Many!
Well, there you go. The “anti Washington cartel” guy has thrown in with the Washington cartel.
Yep. And if Cruz supporters can’t now see what a self serving and manipulating careerist Ted Cruz is they are truly blind. Now that Cruz has figured out he can’t out Trump Trump he is trying to soften up his image by throwing in with “moderate” Rubio. But I guess loving eyes can never see what a fraud Saint Rafael of Goldman is.
Trump is my second , but I will be damned if I stay at home with a baby tantrum , throwing a hissy fit and let Clinton or Sanders get into power .
Anyone thinking of not voting against those two in this election needs to grow up.
you are frigging joking right?
The three of them were talking over each other, so for you to say what you did only shows you bias and possible derangement against Trump.
Have a word with yourself.
Clinton would be a better President. And you come on a conservative website spouting that crap.
You’ve got to be kiddingâRubio is the GOPe, pro-amnesty sellout.
Exactly. And this makes Ted Cruz one also because here he is his saying he prefers the certain Gang of 8 style amnesty a POTUS Rubio would bring. Cruz’s support of Rubio really highlights the insincerity of his hardline “me too” positions on building the wall and deportation.
Ted Cruz has no intention of every keeping his campaign season promises on amnesty. If he did he would never in a million years support a Tea Party betrayer like Marco Amnestio. Birds of a feather, stick together.
