I know some people think Trump sounds silly but I think he’s playing this brilliantly.

Dr. Carson was first last night to say that the IRS targetted him. We know this isn’t paranoia; we know it happens.
Then Trump joins and offers himself up as a Christian being persecuted by Obama’s IRS.

Its a brilliant bit of campaign theater.

He is using Saul Alinsky tactics just like Obama, Hillary, and most of the Democrats do.

That was the moment Cruz deflated. He had spent far too long pumping up this contrived "something to hide" balloon only to have Carson step up and gently insert a needle.

While I can agree that it is campaign theater, I would have to say that your bar for "brilliance" is pretty low. ;-)

I had my first audit since the early ‘70s last year. I itemize my deductions and the largest ones are spelled out. They are for church, and conservative/parachurch organizations. Coincidence? I don’t think so, given the leftward bent of today’s IRS.
BTW, I got a clean bill of health. they asked for the backup to those deductions, and they got a tick and tied (those who are accountants understand that phrase) of not only all the backup detail, but a spreadsheet that showed how it was spread out over the year.
Yup —depends on who you give to....i think that’s now a trigger for an audit....
