Top 5 Senator Lifetime ratings through 2014:
Cruz: 100% Coburn: 98.13% Rubio: 98% Paul: 98% Scott: 97%
I continue to be amazed that on this website that was founded to promote Conservative viewpoints has been reduced to tearing down 2 of the top 3 Conservatives in the United States Senate in order to promote a conman that has spent his life buying off politicians.
Really? And your source for that is... who?
Flame away? Trumpsters? How typical.
The American People want a WINNER who can UNITE the country, and Republicans want someone who can redraw the demographic map, bringing in minorities, Reagan Democrats, and the like.
What many fail to understand is that a Trump victory will DEMOLISH the stranglehold which the Democrat Party has had on minorities such as Blacks, and even Hispanics. Trump got more of the Hispanic vote than the two Hispanic candidates combined!
Cruz simply doesn't look like someone who can erode Hillary's support and take voters away from her. Trump can.
The enthusiasm gap between the Democrats and the energized GOP electorate is profound.
Trump is far from perfect, but having said that, he is miles beyond the second tier candidates in terms of popularity and potential.
The American People don't want a lawyer for President. They want a LEADER.
Go Trump! I can't wait for all the weeping and gnashing of teeth.
If you believe in Free Trade you are not conservative, if you believe in open borders you are not conservative, yet those ideas permeate the modern “conservative” rating systems.... A lifetime rating for a guy who’s in his first term and never shows up, and whos main thing he did try to do was push amnesty.. Yea, I’ll pass.
The other’s anther first termer, mainly known for nearly defaulting the federal government....
So yea, forgive me if I call those ratings absolute hogwash. When the definition of conservative includes “free trade” and “open borders” your measuring stick is out of whack to begin with so forgive me if I don’t buy into the ratings.... Not to mention a LIFETIME rating for 2 folks who haven’t finished their first terms is kind of a short sample to begin with.
When Conservatism includes completely destructive policies to this great nation, it is not conservatism, its oligarchy and the stalwarts that have run and funded the party for far too long can put up whoever they wish, and give them whatever rating they wish, but it will not convince me to once again be an accomplice to the selling out of this great nation to keep padding their back pockets.
Because “Open Borders” and destructive “free trade” are considerd “conservative” by the idiotic GOPe today.. which is a big part of why they are in the pickle they are in...and that’s losing.
Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump for President (Full Press Conference)

Yet EVERY POTUS attempts to do it.
Like I wrote, what need to be done will never be uttered by anyone running for POTUS....guess you missed that part.
As for his rating, I could give a flying you know what is reported from those who would give Rubio a 98% rating.
I don't need someone to tell me who to vote for and who I think will accomplish what I see as the major problems, YMMV
I’ve freeped very few polls. It’s way bigger than FR nowdays.
W was no conservative.
Whatever else Rubio may be he is not now nor has ever been a conservative. He has been pushing for amnesty and open borders since W. was president
They sold you out is what happened.
Aren't you a little tired of sending "conservative" people to DC only to be stabbed in the back?
Rubio, Paul, Gowdey, Ayotte?, Haley etc...isn't that enough.
The problem is DC and it's corruption on both sides.
Cruz and Trump are the ones to take them on, neither are perfect, but it looks like Trump right now.
Good luck in your struggle to pick one, I know there's a lot riding on this one
and this years rating for Rubio is only 96%...he has been dropping
and besides McShamey and Flake clock in at 91 and 92 so
meh
***Seven years of Obama. At this point I’d vote for a cat if it were to run against Hillary.***
Agreed. I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee. My only point in this whole thread is that Cruz and Rubio have been reliably conservative in their voting pattern (yes...I understand Rubio’s immigration baggage), yet Trumpsters feel the need to crap on them.
My fear is that they are so adamant about Trump they’ll stay home if he doesn’t get the nod. If that happens, Hildabeast will win and then pardon herself.
***The American People want a WINNER who can UNITE the country***
Is that what Trump’s rhetoric is doing? Really?
Lifetime? He only has 2 years experience and he skipped out 38% of the time. That goes for Cruz and Rubio.
FR regulars should need no introduction to the ACU’s Grover Norquist:
http://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/grovermustgo/
...On February 11, 2014, ten influential national security practitionersâ including former Congressman Allen West, former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy, former CIA Director Jim Woolsey, former Pentagon Inspector General Joseph Schmitz and others - sent a letter to American Conservative Union board member Cleta Mitchell, urging her and her colleagues to take action against Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan, two ACU members who have for years been running influence operations against conservatives on behalf of the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist causes...
...The American Conservative Union has released the latest in its endless series of letters pushing amnesty for illegal aliens and a doubling of future legal immigration. The letter itself is the usual stuff: We’re running out of workers, “spurs economic growth,” “legal status to undocumented immigrants,” “border security triggers,” etc.
Among the “more than fifteen conservative leaders” [that many?] who signed are some of the usual suspects: Al Cardenas, Richard Land, Tamar Jacoby, Frank Cannon, Jeff Bell, et al. (Curiously, no Grover Norquist.)...
My definition of conservatism is this: Support and defend the Constitution as originally written. This entails small government and state powers.
There is another definition and I can only explain it by example. A liberal will give taxpayer money away to people who are out of work. A conservative will teach that person how to retrain to qualify for a job and hire him. A conservative will never spend more money than he makes and a liberal will borrow against his children’s future.
I fail to see how TRUMP doesn’t fall into the conservative category.
How could you call a guy 98% “conservative” that would inundate our country with socialist voters?
I was referring to Trump’s life as a liberal.
