Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio both release their tax returns...
The Daily Mail ^ | February 28, 2016 | Kalhan Rosenblatt

Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have released their tax return information while both attacking Donald Trump, who refuses to release his.

On Saturday the Florida senator and the Texas senator made public up to fiver years previous tax information hoping to shame Trump into letting voters see his, too.

Rubio released summaries of five tax years Saturday and Cruz later released summaries of four years, from 2011 to 2014, according to NBC News.

Cruz accused Donald Trump of hiding his tax returns from voters during Sunday's broadcast of 'Face The Nation'.

Cruz said Trump could be hiding as many as five years-worth of returns.

'Trump said in the debate...'Gosh, I'm being audited, for two years'. Then he said 'three years'.

Then he said 'maybe five years'. Listen, if there's a problem in his taxes, the voters have a right to know,'

'Because come September, October, the general election, folks in the media are going to make a hayday about any problems in his taxes.

'And I think primary voters have a right to know,' Cruz said during the broadcast.

What about Trump’s earlier cutting remarks about Christie?

If we spent more time using the rules as written in the Constitution to exam whether a man is eligible to be president instead of how much money he has and how he spends it, we would be a whole lot better off...

the Constitution tells us the president of the United States must be a natural born American citizen at least 35 years old who has lived in the United States 14 years (however that part was more for the early presidents here before the Constitution was adopted)

There’s nothing there about the state of his finances nor his morals or how many wives he may have had (Reagan for instance)..

However when we want to define exactly who or what a natural born American citizen is (and if we dare or even fairly want to) it is further stipulated in the Constitution under the 14th Amendment that the person

must be born in the United States, which disqualifies Ted Cruz who was born in Canada, and

must be under the jurisdiction thereof, which lets out Marco Rubio whose parents were not American citizens but Cubans nor indicated any intention of being loyal or aligned with the United states...they didn’t become American citizens until Marco was grown ...

so who are we left with who are eligible to be America citizens ???

Dr Ben Carson who was born in the United States of American citizen parents...

John Kasich who was born in the United States of American citizen parents...

Donald J trump who was born in the United States of American parents... his mother was born in Scotland but naturalized a few years before he was born...

all these men are at least 35 and have lived more than 14 years in America..

BTW when Ted Cruz was born neither he nor his parents were “subject to the jurisdiction thereof” of American laws...they were living in Canada and subject to Canadian laws...

You have been around long enough to know that politics makes strange bedfellows.

You need to wake up and see that the entire might of the media and the GOP-E is trained on destroying the one person who has said he will do what conservatives have been praying for, for 20 years, and has the moxie and will to do it.

I am not looking for perfection.

But I’ll take a Cyrus any day in this fight.

Trump is to the Republican Party what Hillary is to the Democrats. He's above releasing his documents, as she is above releasing her speech transcripts. They're both secretive and deceptive. It's no wonder he has been so fond of her, funding her, praising her as a great presidential candidate, and insisting she come to his wedding. He only lost his political crush on the Clintons when they stood in his way for taking over the USA.

Cruz and Rubio don’t control the IRS. They released their taxes. What does Donald have to hide?

......"The past eight or so years should have proven conclusively that the various strains of birthers out there do not know about which they speak. Nevertheless, this has not stopped them from continuing in their ways. The latest speculation I’ve seen surrounds the Naturalization Act of 1790 passed by the First Congress. Here is the relevant portion:

And the children of citizens of the United States, that may be born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens: Provided, That the right of citizenship shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States

Birthers have been asserting that, since Rafael Cruz* did not become an American citizen until 2005, and while he was in Canada with his wife, during which time Ted was born, he became an Canadian citizen. This, in the Birthers’ view, disqualifies Ted from this Presidency, as “the Founders” never would have intended someone like him becoming President

But look closer at the bolder portion. It never says that the father has to be a citizen of the United States at the time the child is born. All it says is that citizenship "shall not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States." It is indisputable that Rafael Cruz was in the United States for a period of time prior to both Ted’s birth and his marriage to native born American citizen Eleanor Elizabeth Darragh Wilson in 1969. He fled Cuba in 1957 at the age of 18, arriving in Texas. There, he attended the University of Texas, graduating with a degree in mathematics in 1961. He even married his first wife there, Julia Ann Garza, in 1959. They later divorced, but not before he had two daughters with her. He was also granted political asylum in 1961 upon his graduation from UT. ".....Let’s Put an End to this Birther Nonsense about Ted Cruz

I see - the "concern" then, is only for others' associations - anything and everything Trump does or doesn't do it okay with his supporters.

There is no perfect candidate—yours included—both Walker, and then Cruz.

I’ll take my chances with Trump.

You take yours with Cruz.

The headline is misleading.

"Rubio released summaries of five tax years Saturday and Cruz later released summaries"

Neither said they would only release summaries. What are they hiding?

It is a phony issue. tax returns mean nada. Every accounting rule under GAAP had a corresponding and mostly different rule for tax reporting. Lost this topic.

Or

#4 Trump will win the primary and the general election and then build the wall, solve illegal immigration, dismantle the GOPe, revive the economy, end Muslim invasion, etc. etc. etc. ... and the Cruz zombies will lose their collective minds ... and America will be great again.

all of the spamming, condescending, sunshine conservative, trumpeters will lose their collective minds

It's a broad assumption that they have "minds" in the first place.

Who'd be left standing if it came down to Cruz and Rubio, and then the puppetmasters out-bushed them and got them declared as ineligible due to not being Natural Born Citizens?

I'm really not liking the two who might not be eligible, both with ties to the Bush Crime Family, tag teaming.

You quoted the 1790 law. Disregarding that it was repealed, please examine your contention.

And the children of citizens....

Citizens, not a citizen, singular, but citizens, plural. Both parents, with an exception for a father who has never been resident. The inference is that the father must be first a citizen to meet the citizens - plural - requirement and then must have actually lived in the US.
