The voicemail from Marco Rubio that led Christie to back Trump

A perceived insult by Marco Rubio fueled Gov. Chris Christie’s bombshell endorsement of Donald Trump, The Times reports.

Rubio placed a condescending call to ask for the governor’s backing after Christie dropped out of the presidential race. The 44-year-old candidate all but patted Christie, 53, on the head in a voicemail message, saying he “had a bright future in public service,” sources told The New York Times.

Amateur hour by Marco Polo foam boy Rubio, who should know better than to try to kiss the ass of a straight shooter like Christie. I would have done the same thing if I were in Christie's shoes.

Rubio hasn’t done much right. But neither has Cruz.

Christie is smart and articulate and I thought he was nice to have in the debates. He is too liberal for me on the issues. I do not respect his endorsement of Trump, but hey. it’s his choice. Doesn’t mean I have to take his advice.

Rubio has done plenty, except for keeping up with payments to suppress the photos.

FOAM!

"GO FOAM-BOY! GO FOAM-BOY! IT'S MAH BIRTHDAY! GO FOAM-BOY!..."

if nothing else, this election has revealed who is truly controlling the Republican party.

Good luck ever getting a conservative to support us and show real backbone, standing against the sellout establishment. The word is out. We will sell them out for the next TV reality star with a hot temper and simplistic slogans.

The media are nitpicking on minutia because they have run out of ammo.

Christie took “had a bright future in public service” as a slight?

Then, an open mic catches Trump saying to Christie, “Get in the plane and go home.” Per some commentaries, the media didn’t bother to play that full exchange.

Christie is on some of the Sunday morning news-talk programs. It will be interesting to hear how he responds, because the media likely bring up that clip.

FNS

Wallace is trying to ‘gotcha’ Trump. Trump isn’t allowing it and is dominating the exchange.

Wallace tries to interrupt Trump and Trump ignores him and continues giving his responses.

Christie should have told Cabana Boy that he had a bright future in the pool cleaning business.

"The Senate majority leader, Mitch McConnell, has laid out a plan that would have lawmakers break with Mr. Trump in a general election."

The country has very serious problems, some of which could prove to be of an existential nature, and yet the media is fixated on trivia. The media wants to promote a circus, not solutions.

Trump is now referring to Rubio as "Little Marco."

I heard that in his speeches yesterday.

It's going to be very effective.

Absolutely!

Recall in 2012 that every time it looked like Romney might be picking up some momentum, the media would come out with some new nitpicky revelation.

I posted many times that those were nothing more than shiny objects meant to distract the campaign and the voters from ‘real’ issues.

Indeed. Every time Marco’s whiny little voice is heard, I cringe.

I keep seeing this when people refer to Marco. I’m sorry to be out of the loop, but what the heck is a “foam” party anyway? I’ve never heard the term before it was used in reference to Mr. Rubio.
