Copperheads are not aggressive when alone. The problem is when you see one there are probably 10 more nearby. You could accidentally step on one while backing away form another one.

You could accidentally step on one while backing away form another one.I have only seen an occasional copperhead on my property. Might have something to do with the salt-and-pepper king snakes I see more frequently.
