Senator Sessions Joined Mr. Trump in Madison, Alabama to Endorse the Republican Frontrunner
(New York, NY) February 28th, 2016 – Today Donald J. Trump received the endorsement of Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions. Senator Sessions is widely recognized as the nation's most highly respected official on the issue of illegal immigration.
Mr. Trump stated, “I am deeply honored to have the endorsement of Senator Jeff Sessions, leader of congressional conservatives. He has been called the Senate's indispensable man and the gold standard. He led the fight against the Gang of Eight, against Obama's trade deal, against Obama's judges, and for American sovereignty. He has stood up to special interests as few have. There is no more respected man in Congress and we are closely aligned on many issues, including trade and illegal immigration, and I am proud to consider Jeff Sessions an advisor, friend and ally.”
Mr. Trump and Senator Sessions surprised the massive crowd at the frontrunner’s Alabama rally just days before Super Tuesday Primary contest.
Senator Sessions added, “I am thrilled today to offer my endorsement of Donald J. Trump for President. This election is our last chance to save U.S. sovereignty and to end the domination of the political establishment over the interests of working Americans. Trump alone has rejected the donor class, defending America’s jobs and wages from open borders, uncontrolled immigration and the massive Trans-Pacific Partnership that will cede U.S. authority to foreign powers. Trump’s trade and immigration plans will revitalize our shrinking middle class, keeping jobs and wealth and income inside the United States of America. Trump understands that a nation must always place the interests of its own people first.”
Senator Sessions continued, “We are nearing fast the point of no return. The people are hurting. Their wages are declining. Their schools are overburdened. Their hospitals are stretched past the breaking point. Crime is up, and community confidence is down. You’re the one bashing Sen Sessions, (and doing the name calling) now that he has endorsed Trump.
You’re sounding like a very sore loser. Unbecoming....for you (wait, should I have called you a SoreCRuzerman?)....and, your candidate.
Sen Sessions is and always has been a patriot. He sees what shape this country is in and, like Phyllis Schlafly..and others, sees Trump as the ONLY one who can turn this mess around.

Cruz will appeal to a very specific population.

Why Trump and not Cruz? People want someone who can actually win. I could write a multi-paragraph response (unfortunately I do that often), but I’ll make this one simple and just say that. People want a winner, and a winner that they believe will do what he says he will do. Trump may not be the most polished or the most ‘knowledgeable,’ but he projects winning and doing the best, and that’s what people want. Cruz and Rubio talk well, but they don’t project the same sense of winning and doing.
So will people who think Cruz people will throw their support to any of the RINO choices left!

While others were self deluded into thinking Jeff was still working with Cruz, now you know he has been working with Trump for weeks.

And your question gets right to the heart of the matter.
I’m just an average joe sixpack, I’m voting Trump because of immigration.
When he was on TV my kids and I were watching, and he first announced he’d ‘build a wall and make Mexico pay”, both my kids mouths dropped as they stared at me in shocked admiration.
Because about a year prior, driving them to school, I had told them if I were President I’d “Stop illegal immigration and send a bill to Mexico for the costs of all their citizens that are here.”
So basically Trump is stealing all my ideas. And my kids keep asking me why I’m not running...
This election may take the dry-drunk out. He should be on a suicide watch from now on.
He is one of the very few I also trust.
He is my senator and I fully expected him to endorse Trump. After all, he is a very smart man. He is one of a very, very few conservatives in office.

why is the media backing (fox) rubio/jeb/???? why doesn’t the media like trump? fox???
Somewhere along the way, the Cruz folks convinced themselves a good Conservative could not back Trump.
They couldn’t convince anyone else, but they still are convinced Trump will destroy what is left of our nation.

At some point, the Cruz folks are going to have to back it down. What they are selling, isn’t selling.
Too prominent of people have backed Trump, and there is plenty of good reason behind that.

I don’t think that “Cruz people” think that personalities that have endorsed Trump have “gone full blown Leftist”. I think that these folks have endorsed Trump because they see him as winning the nomination. However, I have seen many (formerly) sane FReepers who are Trump supporters suddenly think that long time PROVEN (by their actions) constitutional conservative such Cruz & Rush Limbaugh have become “LIARS” and “establishment” because they do not support Trump. I have hopes that sanity at some point will return to these people-—but it may not, I fear.
