Business Legend Jack Welch: 'The CRAZIEST Thing in This Election is People Calling Ted Cruz a Liar'
PoliStick ^ | February 27, 2016 | Matthew K. Burke

In perhaps the craziest election season in decades, if not ever, singling out one item as the kookiest is virtually impossible.

However, Former GE CEO Jack Welch, widely considered one of the most successful businessmen in history, said that Donald Trump and Marco Rubio calling constitutional conservative Ted Cruz a “liar” without being able to back it up is the “craziest” thing of this election cycle.

Appearing on FOX News with host Neil Cavuto, Jack Welch said:

“The craziest thing in this election has been the idea of people calling Ted Cruz a liar. I’ve watched this guy for the last 18 months. The one thing this man is is straight and truthful. Truth and trust go with this guy. I wrote a book about Truth and Trust — this guy personifies it.”

Let’s take ethanol. He goes into Iowa with a six-term governor and tells them we’re through with subsidies.  Right straight in the eye — no one else gets there. They all come around to it — Rubio always comes around to Ted’s positions eventually.”

Jack Welch wasn’t shocked that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a failed RINO presidential candidate who led the Garden State to a record nine credit downgrades under his leadership, endorsed Trump saying that Christie is a “political animal” who is “interviewing for a job” in a presumed Trump administration since he will soon be looking for work.

“He needs a government check and he loves the political scene,” Welch said of Christie. “Once a political animal, always a political animal.”

Jack Welch summarized his support for Ted Cruz by applauding the Texas Senator for being the first to call out the corruption in Washington, D.C., in both parties, where politicians and crony lobbyists join together to benefit from big government at the expense of taxpayers. Cruz coined the term “Washington Cartel” to accurately describe this unholy alliance.

“Ted Cruz is the first one to call this crowd a cartel — to call them for what they were — and that’s why I supported him,” Welch told Cavuto.

“I’m a conservative on most issues but a liberal on health. It is an unacceptable but accurate fact that the number of uninsured Americans has risen to 42 million. Working out detailed plans will take time. But the goal should be clear: Our people are our greatest asset. We must take care of our own. We must have universal healthcare. “

Welch is a good man and has principles.

Such things are largely irrelevant in this day and age, however.

As a Conservative he’s fine, but as a campaigner he blew it. I don’t believe he’s a liar, but I think he went on the attack against Trump and got himself into a fight he wasn’t ready for, when his best strategy would have been to stick to the issues.

“Did he say single payer, government run, socialized universal health care?”

Read for yourself what Trump said:

“We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing. What would universal care look like? Nebraska senator Kerrey and others have advocated a version of the Canadian-style, single-payer system in which all payments for medical care are made to a single agency (as opposed to the large number of HMOs and insurance companies, with their diverse rules, claim forms, and deductibles ).

A recent study done by the Massachusetts Medical Society says that in Massachusetts the single-payer plan would save $ 5 billion or about one-seventh of the overhead spent on medical care. Administrative costs across America make up 25 percent of the healthcare dollar, which is two-and-a-half times the cost of healthcare administration in Canada. Doctors might be paid less than they are now, as is the case in Canada, but they would be able to treat more patients because of the reduction in their paperwork.

The Canadian plan also helps Canadians live longer and healthier than Americans. There are fewer medical lawsuits, less loss of labor to sickness, and lower costs to companies paying for the medical care of their employees. If the program were in place in Massachusetts in 1999 it would have reduced administrative costs by $ 2.5 million. We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing. But implementing such a plan is not simple. One major problem is that the single-payer plan in Canada is in financial difficulty, as is the nationalized plan in the United Kingdom. We have to improve on the prototype.”

As accusations of dishonesty have flown between Trump, Cruz and Rubio, voters say they are more apt to see Trump as honest and trustworthy. Asked who of the five candidates is most honest and trustworthy,
35% name Trump
22% Carson
14% Cruz
13% Rubio

The psychology behind mob mentality and cult of personality is amazing, isn't it.

The simple solution to T.Rump’s great wall is to run around him and give him an enema. Once the sh!t drains out of him, he is just another loudmouthed braindead New Yorkel.

You do know Trump pushed a “Cruz is dropping out” rumor today, right?

I am disgusted by some here on FR defaming Cruz with half stories & innuendo.
He has been one of the few bright spots for conservatism the past few years.
I understand liking one candidate over another but impugning Cruz with ‘liar liar’ is low class.

Comparing Jack Welsh as a business man with Donald Trump, is like comparing Michael Jordan with a backup on a college BB team.
