This evil has to be confronted

You have definitely identified the source ... evil. Don't know if you are a practicing christian but consider how Satan hates those who do good. To draw humanity to himself, he uses a very subtle approach. He appeals to 'fairness' and that works in our pc culture. At last year's Prayer Breakfast, Obama went after christians: President Obama’s “Less Than Loving” Easter Attack on Christians Should “Concern” You.

You may have missed it but I posted a thread the other day that corroborates the emerging trend of anti-christianity we are beginning to witness in the west. It is already prevalent in the east.

Society is undergoing a change of mind about the way religion and people of faith intersect with public life. That is, there are intensifying perceptions that faith is at the root of a vast number of societal ills.

Though it remains the nation’s most dominant religion, Christianity faces significant headwind in the court of public opinion. The decades-old trend that Christianity is irrelevant is increasingly giving way to the notion that Christianity is bad for society.

Check it out: New study: Increasing number of Americans consider Christianity "to be extremist"

When God is removed from society, a void is created.

Really like your quote on the trend toward anti-Christianity. I see it everywhere and I am miffed by the lack of response by Christians. I've even faulted out pastor for not addressing it in his own church. The timidity is alarming. It is the same timidity that causes us to not confront evil where we find it, and it proves that we've been intimidated by those who see religion, especially Christianity, as extremist. My kids deal with it in school continuously, where Islam is talked about in glowing terms while Christians bear the brunt of the criticism. My kids, to their credit, defend their religion but find that a vast majority of their peers look at them as crazies when they do.

We know why this is happening. These trends were predicted long ago. However, we still need to stand against the tide but I don't see the motivation necessary to make that happen on any large scale. The right president could be a game changer. We have someone who talks the talk and walks the walk, but even here he is the target of derision.
