Rubio rejoices: 'We fought Trump to a draw!' - CNN suggests senator 'in denial ...

Sen. Marco Rubio Tuesday night rejoiced in the Super Tuesday results, saying “his [Trump] numbers are coming down and our numbers are going up!”

He was declared the winner in Minnesota with slightly more than one third of the votes and Ted Cruz and Donald Trump at his heels.

But he was third in most of the rest of the states.

“We never said Super Tuesday was our night,” he said, “Now the map begins to look really good for our campaign.”

(snip)

Tapper, however, didn't see it.

"Senator, you keep saying that," he said, of Rubio's messaging that Trump was falling while he was rising, "and he keeps winning states. You're talking about Virginia and that's another state Donald Trump won. And I'm just wondering if there's a certain amount of denial that you're in this race."

That’s crazy. Trump won the most states by far and even where he lost, picked up basically the same # of delegates. Rubio just doesn’t gain traction, no matter that winds are at his back.

Rubio is confident because the GOPe is funding him with lots of money and Fox is pumping him shamelessly.

Trump has helped me see that rubio is not my guy. At this point it is either trump or kasich. Cruz spins everything in a way that he thinks everyone other than him is a moron. Trump never talks down to his supporters.

Rubio should give up on hoodwinking the Republican party and go back to the foam party.

That’s a false headline, Cruz won 3 states, not 2. And it appears that Rubio is applying common core mathematics in this case.

DONORS ALSO GET HAND-HOLDING — POLITICO’s Anna Palmer: “Rubio’s top campaign adviser huddled with roughly 40 bundlers and K Streeters Tuesday morning to prepare them for a difficult primary election night — as well as to brief them on the campaign's plan for what to do next. Terry Sullivan told supporters at campaign headquarters that the Florida Republican could secure just 100 delegates from Super Tuesday states in one of the scenarios he laid out.

“Sullivan's prediction was part of his larger detailed powerpoint presentation going through different delegate counts for March, April and May. He told attendees that it would be mathematically impossible for Donald Trump to get to 1,237 delegate votes by the end of April, according to multiple attendees. Sullivan said that Henry Barbour, a veteran Mississippi political operative, is leading Rubio’s convention delegate strategy.”

GOPe Announce Plans To Go “Full Mississippi” on Donald Trump To Destroy Him….

Appearing on Bloomberg News the former Mississippi architect, Stuart Stevens, and Mississippi financier/bag-man, Henry Barbour, who carried out the Mississippi Strategy – openly admit their intent to use the same level of vitriol to remove Donald Trump.

What can you say about a candidate whose overall strategy is to hang out until the end in the hopes that the party bosses will hand it to him if the overwhelming leader doesn’t get over 50% in a five way race? It might happen, but it would translate to defeat in the General.

Could someone with Photoshop skills please put Marco’s face on the Black Night from Monty Python? In case you missed the movie, after the Black Night had his limbs hacked off by King Arthur, he insisted on calling the fight a “draw”.
