DONALD J. TRUMP POSITION ON VISAS
www.donaldjtrump.com ^ | March 4,2016 | Donald J Trump

Posted on 03/03/2016 10:18:37 PM PST by GeaugaRepublican

"Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration: these are temporary foreign workers, imported from abroad, for the explicit purpose of substituting for American workers at lower pay. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant, widespread H-1B abuse and ending outrageous practices such as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end forever the use of the H-1B as a cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire American workers first for every visa and immigration program. No exceptions."

Uh... I never said Cruz was never for H1Bs...

Plus, I personally support a sensible H1B program.

Sooooo... stop projecting.

Oh, wait. I get it. You don’t understand that when Trump betrays a core position that his supporters rant about non-stop on Freerepublic, that it’s fair game for me to point out he just betrayed them.

These are tough concepts. Try to keep up, lizard brain.

Thank you for proving my point. Cheap childish insults instead of a rationak response from you...again.

HOW abut your quite projecting YOUR behavior on Trump and everyone else and ANSWER the point?

Why is Cruz claiming he is not for H1-B when he clear shows he is on his Senate Website?

My Trump contact told me that Donald was only talking about students on visas who get degrees here...that we should not just kick them out when they graduate. His “softening” does NOT apply to H1-B’s brought here simply to work by bypassing higher waged Americans.

So what? Have YOU never made a clarification/ edit on something you said.

When you have no core values and no real political direction other than what you think an audience might want to hear at a given moment, you might have to do that a lot.

Flip flop.

Trump is just Romney with bad hair. But I think Romney was more conservative to begin with.

He employs thousands of them on his own dime, from what I understand.

He runs hotels (maids, busboys, bellhops, maintence people), golf courses (groundskeepers), and does construction (laborers). He has a record of prefering to hire illegals. If you've been in a hotel, and listened to the maids, you know what language is spoken. So, how many of those "thousands" are in fact Americans? Don't you get it? He has said that after "deporting" them, he wants them back RAPIDLY, on an expedited basis. How many of those jobs will go to Americans? All he and his corporate ilk have to do to keep those wages depressed is to specifiy that language.

"I crashed your car? I crashed your car? Well, let's not forget about that time when you bought me white chocolate truffles for Valentines day after I mentioned that one time that I HATE WHITE CHOCOLATE!!!"

Poor MNJohnnie. Can't defend the car wreck that is Trump's betrayal of the position he and his supporters have been spouting here on FR. Tries to make it about me and Cruz's position, which I have always supported.

WHITE CHOCOLATE!!!

I say “your wall” in the sense that many Trump supporters have said that “the wall” is the “only thing that matters.” Therefore, they have taken ownership of the wall as single-issue voters.

I’m a broad conservative, not a single issue voter.

Same way if they were single issue on a SCOTUS nominee I would say, “And you aren’t going to get your conservative SCOTUS nominee out of him, either.”

Different position now that he has had some FURTHER coaching by Sessions.

Better hope Sessions does not keel over while Trump is in office or Sessions pisses him off. All bets will be off

Ignore what I said. This is what I meant.

Then why ignore what he previously said?

I disagree with him, but he has come out against H1B, and last night he came out in favor of keeping foreigners who graduate from out universities with advanced degrees, allowing them to officially immigrate because of their high achievement

Now, I disagree with that. I want ALL immigration stopped for about 2 decades like we have done in the past, in order to assimilate the immigrants we've legally brought in. I would probably make exceptions for Christian refugees who can absolutelyprove their status in their own country.

However, he says that is not an H1B visa, but it is immigration.

Since H1B is a 3 year (iirc) permit, then he has a point.

People who have attended American Universities have been brainwashed into believing in Fabian Socialism and worshipping at the altar of centralized government.

Trump wants those people to stick around.

I don't want them coming here to get their degrees and I certainly don't want them staying here after they get here.

Frankly most College degrees are not worth the paper they are printed on. Earning a college degree today is the functional equivalent of getting a remedial high school diploma and a chance to register as a Democrat.

I was brainwashed in college back in the 70's. It's a lot worse now.

I don't know if there is an alternative to Trump, but at least I am cognizant of the FACT that Donald Trump is all smoke and mirrors and what you see is not what you are going to get.

In technical fields, they either coming out knowing how to engineer or how to set up an information network, or how to do chemistry or how to do math. It takes ALL their time. They don’t pay much attention to the fluff. My wife is an advanced math degree. They are far too busy learning intricate information to get much involved with anything else.

That said, I still want to halt all immigration, period.

Now, I do think that any immigrant from that level of technical training should have perfect English. I don’t mean nearly perfect. I mean 4+ level in both speaking AND comprehension. And that should be graded by our testers.

I am against illegal immigration and the unfair trade practices. I don’t caucus with people not wanting any immigration - oh and I want to put a stop or reduce Muslim immigration. Because of trending Muslim behavior rather than their race, etc.

There will always be exceptions for political refugees whether we like it or not.

Additionally, I have known A LOT of Europeans and Asians who moved to the United States to open factories to produce and sell goods. Most of them initially came only intending to stay a few years to get things running, but decided they loved it here and became citizens.

Jobs are important. When a company like BMW or Canon decides to come build a plant in the U.S. that will employee a thousand or more Americans all of whom will be paid more than the median income, we want that to happen. However, we also need to recognize that they are going to need to send engineers and executives from other countries.

“this change shows how his decision making is purely situational”

Believe as you wish. I see it as Trump learning on the fly and continually making mid course corrections - unlike bush, who stubbornly clung to wrong positions.
