Donald Trump Backs Out of CPAC
CNN ^ | 3/4/16 | Dana Bash & Tal Kopan

Posted on 03/04/2016 11:05:12 AM PST by KansasGirl

Washington (CNN)Donald Trump will no longer speak at the annual conservative confab CPAC this weekend, he announced Friday.

Trump was scheduled to speak at the annual gathering of the who's-who of the conservative world Saturday, but said he would be campaigning, instead.

In a statement, the Trump campaign said the GOP front-runner will instead attend rallies in Kansas and Florida.

"Because of this, he will not be able to speak at CPAC as he has done for many consecutive years," the campaign said. "Mr. Trump would like to thank Matt Schlapp and all of the executives at CPAC and looks forward to returning to next year, hopefully as president of the United States."

The American Conservative Union, the conference's organizers, said it was "disappointed."

"We are very disappointed Donald Trump has decided at the last minute to drop out of CPAC," the group said. "This comes at a critical time in our movement's history. His decision sends a clear message to grassroots conservatives."

But ACU said it remains "neutral" on the presidential race.

"CPAC is the heart and soul of the conservative movement and will be, with or without Mr. Trump," ACU said. "Since we invited him several months ago—and Mr. Trump accepted our invitation and terms —we made it clear all candidates would follow the same format. And now he is backing out."

Unlike you, who apparently prefers innuendo, I like to stick with the actual words spoken or written. It’s more productive (and honest) to reach a conclusion based on the actual meaning of the words.

LOL - You're both a HOOT!

“You’ve gone after former president Bill Clinton for his infidelity,” a reporter asked during a press conference in Lincoln, Nebraska. “Are your own personal indiscretions fair game in this campaign?”

“Yes, they would be,” Trump said.

But WAIT! There's more:

For all his success in the boardroom, Donald Trump's life in the bedroom has been messy at best. The real estate magnate married his first wife, Ivana, in 1977, but things got rocky after Trump's affair with actress Marla Maples surfaced in New York City tabloids. "You bitch, leave my husband alone!" Ivana (pictured) told Maples on a ski trip in Aspen, Colo.

Are these the same kind of "experiences" you're talking about?

Yeah, right. (Sources available, upon request)

Maybe because when you give your word you’re going to do something, you keep your word. If your word can’t be believed, than you can’t be believed.

Beans + Dogs = nothing but foul flatulence.

The funny thing is, the GOP establishment (including the professional CPAC conservative establishment) hates Cruz almost as much as they hate Trump.

Truth hurts, doesn’t it. Just like the Donald you resort to immature, childish retorts.

You HAD to have been intending your post for someone else.

I'm not using innuendo.

I'm providing concrete evidence from the man's own book, interviews with him, and statements by his former wife (the one he cheated on.)

Your friend is the one who is dissembling the truth with fantasies of what "The Donald" meant when he referred to "experiences" with married women.

How can you breathe down there?

And just so it's clear - I'm not expecting a perfect man to lead (just yet), but I do want honesty - not "fiction" or "straight out lies."

Maybe that's too much to expect anymore.

His own personal indiscretions are childs play by comparison and as you seemed to have not noticed the Presidential election is against Hillary Clinton. Remember her? No I thought not. Best to spend all our time attacking our own best candidate trying to prove how worthless he is and save the GOP/Democrats the bother.

You may now take your head out the sand :)

That I didn’t know. Certainly the CPAC “inclusiveness” was hardly the standard to bear for attracting allegiance by the Religious Right.

OK, you win, he had an affair 40 YEARS AGO. I bet he forgot to feed his dog one day when he was 9.

Of course the holier than though can always find fault with any man.

When Christianity teaches us that every man is a sinner, we have to rely on the Constitution for guidance:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

Personally, I like being a hoot, it's made me many friends. I wouldn't like being a self-anointed pious judge of those I don't know. I'll leave that to you and your ilk.

He didn’t have one affair, he had many and it wasn’t 40 YEARS AGO. When he divorced his second wife in 1998 he already had his current wife lined up who he began a realtionship with in 1998.

Cruz did okay in the 2015 CPAC straw poll, but not great. Trump was 8th. I wonder if this one will be limited to the candidates who haven’t dropped out. If not, Paul might win again.

25.7 Sen. Rand Paul
21.4 Gov. Scott Walker
11.5 Sen. Ted Cruz
11.4 Dr. Ben Carson
8.3 Former Gov. Jeb Bush
4.3 Former Sen. Rick Santorum
3.7 Sen. Marco Rubio
3.5 Donald Trump
3.0 Carly Fiorina
2.8 Gov. Chris Christie
1.1 Former Gov. Rick Perry
0.9 Gov. Bobby Jindal
0.8 Former Gov. Sarah Palin
0.3 Former Gov. Mike Huckabee
0.3 Former Ambassador John Bolton
0.1 Sen. Lindsey Graham
0.1 Former Gov. George Pataki
1.0 Undecided
0.7 Other

(3,007 votes cast Feb. 25-27 at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Conducted by the Polling Company Inc./WomenTrend)

Donald Trump is serious about winning the nomination.

He decided to hold rallies in Kansas and Florida instead.

No problem at all for Glenn Beck and his fellow hater crowd:
Mr. Trump's open slot can be filled by Willard Romney!

GO TRUMP, GO!
