I’ve thought about this very thin. Every time I see a Prius I see a liberal who bought the global warming hook line and sinker.
They’re not all liberals. My ultra conservative step dad has a Prius. Got it for the 45+ MPG.
My thoughts on the Prius:
1) I do not own a Prius but my Dad does.
2) I drove it yesterday for the first time.
3) Its not a bad car and drives fine for a compact.
4) If it really gets 50mph, it leaves just that much more gas for me and my Hummer.
5) If all the liberals (and my Dad is one) would pay the premium to buy a Prius to feel good. We could keep gas under $2 for a long time.
I know a lot of people (mostly libs) who brought a Prius or other hybrid. I don't know anyone who is a repeat buyer.
Prius is powered 100% by gasoline. It’s just very efficient at using that gas. It does not rely on the electrical grid.
Hybrids, like electrics, generally aren’t worth their premium for typical use, but the tech is pretty cool and reliable. They have the same appeal as other upscale/luxury vehicles.
Me too, how about the guy down the street from me with two, count them, TWO Volts.
But, he’s only got a 5 mile commute to work. I have a sales territory and routinely drive 200-300 miles a day. Imagine how my efficiency would plummet if I had to stop every 45 miles for a 6 hour recharge.
If you read the article, it did say that hybrid cars are much better than all electric. I have a Ford C Max, and I love it. None dare call me liberal.
