Sen. Ted Cruz's victory in his home state of Texas, dubbed huge by many in the media, was the worst showing by a Republican candidate in a home state since 1913, according to a new analysis.
On Super Tuesday, Cruz won 43.7 percent of the vote, besting Donald Trump who won 26.7. But the average primary showing by Republican candidates who won their home state in the last 100 years has been 78.5 percent, according to the Smart Politics blog from Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
In Texas more people voted against Cruz than voted for him.
He’s not well-liked in Texas and without popular governor Abbott’s endorsement would have lost it.
Unless you count those 3 together as anti-Cruz, which is what we hear from Cruz supporters every time Trump wins a state.
With Cruz’s numbers he would lose a primary challenge for his Senate seat.
That is ridiculous. You don't know a thing about Texas. He is well loved here and he has performed as advertised.
There were 13 people on the Texas GOP primary ballot and six still in the race when early voting started, including JEB. Makes a difference.
Most Trump wins have had more people voting against him. Its the nature of this primary.

Absolutely correct. We are looking at a new paradigm.
Vote fraud was definitely indicated on the voting machines. And Cruz was the likeliest recipient. Whether that was enough to turn the results, we don’t know. And, of course, the Republican establishment has zero interest in finding out.
As I understand it, Senator Cruz has done exactly what he campaigned on doing.
Wasn’t it TX where they just pulled all those machines? Not saying it was Cruz, more likely GOP.
I don't know who said that but they weren't representative of Trump's supporters. I personally think any cheating would be by GOP. In fact, Mississippi is in a precarious situation Tues.
Cruz won beating Trump by 17% (480,00 votes). It wasn’t close.
No matter how you feel about the issue, you must accept Cruz’s campaign will be dead in the water after this stuff makes the nightly news. WTH is Cruz thinking appearing with guys like Pastor Kevin (Kill the Gays) Swanson and Bryan (Arrest All The Gays) Fischer. Cruz might as well be hanging with the Westboro bunch.
But don’t worry. The MSM won’t pick this up unless Cruz makes it to the general.

I figure when people are passionate about an election.....dumb things will get said. You just stick by your guns and go with the flow.

Richard Nixon ran unopposed in the California primary in 1960 and did not enter that primary in 1968.
One contest that featured three strong candidates was the California primary of 1928, which Hoover won by 49 percent. Although he didn't score that big a win, Cruz's victory over three strong opponents still is impressive.
Maybe it will come up in the next debate ???
