Yes indeed. I find that I have to explain to my kid what life was like “back then”. The kids retreat into electronics because they want a bunker, and don’t know what else to do.
I will never forgive or forget the neocons and the Clintons.
When Reagan’s casket was sitting in state in DC, I remember Nancy being escorted in before the doors were opened to the public.
The look on her face as she straightened and then gently caressed the flag covering the casket said more about her love for him than thousands of words could express.
I will carry that image with me forever.

I was all right until I watched the hearse going to the ranch. Cars and people lined the road and waved goodbye.
That did it.
There was also the Marine without hands who stood in front of Reagan’s casket and saluted. That was a throat lump.

Is it me or am I alone in thinking that someone of Mrs. Reagan’s position and stature deserves more than just a tweet or a Facebook post? Cruz released a statement, Rubio released a statement, heck even Obama released a statement. But a tweet is all Trump and Palin thinks Mrs. Reagan deserves?
I’m betting that a Cruz tweet will get more eyes than a Cruz statement.
I’m positive that a Trump tweet will.
Let's compare the two:

So which one is a reflection of the kind of honor due to Nancy Reagan? And which one was the product of someone who couldn't even spare the whole 140 characters? Trump's may get more eyes. But Cruz's shows which candidate actually cared.

I would think that sincerity would be most important. Trump obviously thinks that as long as he can fake that then that's all that matters.

I remember the eulogy in which President Bush stated that “in the last decade of his life Ronald Reagan saw through a glass darkly. Now he stands face to face with his Savior”.
Now they both stand face to face with their Savior.
My daughter and Son-in-Law were stationed at Ft. Meyer at the time of Reagan’s funeral. SIL was in the Old Guard. He was marching (slowly) right behind Reagan’s caisson - in perfect unison. My daughter was on the route with her unit (her MOS was Personnel). When Reagan’s caisson passed by, her Captain announced “Salute!” and all saluted as the caisson passed by.

I was fine until Nancy came up to the casket and started rubbing it and crying. I lost it then.
What an honor to have been part of that. I’ll bet they were proud and tell their kids about it.
