Donald Trump worries NC GOP leaders; 'turning off a lot of people'
Charlotte Observer ^ | March 5, 2016 | Tim Funk

The Republican establishment’s panic at the prospect of the GOP nominating Donald Trump for president has spread to North Carolina, which will hold its presidential primary March 15.

Echoing Mitt Romney, the party’s 2012 presidential nominee, and scores of other party elders around the country, some longtime North Carolina Republican leaders say they’re worried that Trump at the top of the ticket in November could hurt the chances of other GOP candidates – including those for governor and U.S. Senate – listed lower on the ballot.

won’t have negative coat-tails And the evidence of that is? Don't win National Elections with just the Party choir voting for your candidate.

Three of the most respected political commentators, Pat Caddell, Doug Schoen and John LeBoutillier had this to say (or words to this effect) about Donald Trump......Trump campaign is at the turning point...it is up to him as to the direction it goes now....less political invective against his opponents...go after legitimate targets like government waste (yuuuuuge) corrupt politicians/government, trade deals etc. AND to go high rather than go low...

If Trump doesn't start acting like an adult....he/we will lose. We will also have to fight for Ted Cruz however, he is acting like an adult and a statesman and it is showing in his gaining on Trump. The people know Ted doesn't lie......

Unreal as it gets.

The loser class panicked about losing.

They wouldn’t know how to win if you showed them a game plan to win - they couldn’t execute it.

What really upsets them is Trump has done something to date they couldn’t do - win in a lot of places.

Screw ‘em.

I have zero worries about Trump winning the general election. My only concern is him getting the nomination.

The real problem is that he's only one of a handful that are fighting back against the establishment (both GOPe and DemocRATs/Communists).

It's hard to get anything done when practically all of the establishment is against you.

Actually, it is the GOP leaders who are turning people off. THEY are the very reason for Trump having declared his candidacy, and for him having done so well.

It is also instructive to note that EVERY SINGLE CONTEST SO FAR - except for Minnesota and Puerto Rico, has been won by either Trump or Cruz, both of whom are non-establishment outsiders by both design and effect. Quite the ringing endorsement for the GOPe, isn’t it????

I agree wholeheartedly with your analysis.

I would add that if somehow Trump and Cruz can bury the hatchet and run as a team, then the rout will be even bigger. That is my most earnest hope - that Trump with his nationalist instincts and his killer instinct in negotiations will be running things, but that a Constitutional Conservative will have his ear at all times (esp. when it comes to nominating federal judges and justices). The only thing better than that would be to also have Newt Gingrich as Trump’s Chief of Staff.

Don't forget this:

Cruz supported Corker bill, TPP, TPA, 500% increase in H1B visas (backed down only when grassroots went ballistic).

Ohio lost 112,500 jobs due to trade with TPP countries
Cleveland.com  | 03/07/16 | Olivera Perkins

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ohio lost 112,500 jobs in 2015 resulting from the United States' trade deficit with countries that are part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, according to an analysis by the Economic Policy Institute.

That places Ohio sixth, in terms of the percentage of jobs lost to trade with TPP countries, among the 50 states and the District of Columbia ranked in the report released Thursday by the liberal Washington, D.C.-based think tank. The lost jobs represent nearly 2.2 percent of employment in Ohio, according to the analysis.

The total number of lost jobs includes those directly and indirectly impacted by the trade deficit with TPP countries. It also includes the number of jobs EPI says would have been created through the multiplier or "respending" effect had trade with those countries been more balanced.

The TPP is a free trade agreement between the United States and 11 partnership countries, including Canada, Mexico, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. While the countries have reached final agreement on the trade accord, it probably will not go into effect for several months. The agreement must clear several hurdles, including final ratification by Congress.

Come on, Diamond and Silk.. do your thing.

Tell the GOP: Don’t get it twisted!

Hold some rallies and expound on how great a Trump presidency would be for all Americans, specially for minorities and low wage earners, the most affected by this recession.

Come on.. lets win North Carolina :)

I admit thats one thing I fear about Trump. I am hoping that once he sews up the nomination, he will moderate his tone a bit. Not pussifie himself either, but come across a little more... Presidential, at least. Not enough to turn off his supporters, but enough to perhaps win over those who think he is gross. Thats really the only thing between losing or eeking a win over Hillary, and an absolute landslide.
