Michael Bloomberg Will Not Enter Presidential Race
NY Times ^ | March 7, 2016 | Maggie Haberman and Alexander Burns

Posted on 03/07/2016 2:39:02 PM PST by Zakeet

Michael R. Bloomberg, who for months quietly laid the groundwork to run for president as an independent, will not enter the 2016 campaign, he said Monday, citing his fear that a three-way race could lead to the election of a candidate who would imperil the security and stability of the United States: Donald J. Trump.

In a forceful condemnation of his fellow New Yorker, Mr. Bloomberg said Mr. Trump has run "the most divisive and demagogic presidential campaign I can remember, preying on people's prejudices and fears." He said he was alarmed by Mr. Trump's threats to bar Muslim immigrants from entering the country and to initiate trade wars against China and Japan, and he was disturbed by Mr. Trump's "feigning ignorance of David Duke," the white supremacist leader whose support Mr. Trump initially refused to disavow.

"These moves would divide us at home and compromise our moral leadership around the world," Mr. Bloomberg said in a column published Monday afternoon on Bloomberg View, his opinion site.

Mr. Bloomberg said Mr. Trump has run “the most divisive and demagogic presidential campaign I can remember...”

So I guess he won’t be voting for Trump. Darn.

Polls showed Trump beating Hillary in NY State in a 3-way race.

Bloomberg discovered he couldn’t run without taking NYC Dem votes from Hillary .... he splits the liberals in many places.

And no one to save us from Keith Richards and Ron Wood smoking cigarettes on stage at Madison Square Garden.

NEW YORK CITY MAYOR FUMED OVER ‘SMOKING’ ON STAGE AT STONES CONCERT; BAND RACED OUT OF GARDEN AVOIDING COPS

**Exclusive**

New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg is fuming mad over Rolling Stones members smoking on stage at Madison Square Garden during a nationally televised concert this weekend, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

“The mayor sent cops to issue summonses,” one stage source told the DRUDGE REPORT late Saturday. “But the cops watched the show, off stage, by a monitor, instead of stopping the concert.”

HBO cameras captured band members Keith Richards and Ron Wood smoking cigarettes while performing.

“The band raced out of the Garden after they finished their last number, avoiding the police,” an insider said. “The music had not even finished playing; and they were in cars already, spinning away. The did not even go to their dressing rooms!”

Bloomie must be in the early stage of dementia because he clearly can't remember Obama's 2008 and 2012 campaigns.

Good.

The guy is insane when it comes to gun control, and control over people’s life in general (telling us how big a Big Gulp we can drink for example).

I hope he keeps his money and not pivot and dump a few million on Anti-Trump super PACs.

Be smart.. keep your money.

Another step forward for Hillarys journey to to the White House.

The Republicans better get their act together and unify and do it fast.

He was going to pick Adm. Mike Mullen to run as VP. They would have received a lot of votes.
