Trump's convincing win in Michigan restored his outsider campaign's momentum and increased the pressure on the party's anti-Trump forces to find a way to stop the brash billionaire's march to the nomination ahead of several key contests next week.
The 69-year-old New Yorker built his victories in Michigan, in the heart of the industrial Midwest, and Mississippi in the Deep South with broad appeal across many demographics. He won evangelical Christians, Republicans, independents, those who wanted an outsider and those who said they were angry about how the federal government is working, according to exit polls.
At a news conference afterward, Trump said he was drawing new voters to the Republican Party and the establishment figures who are resisting his campaign should save their money and focus on beating the Democrats in November.

Trump won MS and MI, but Cruz won ID and will most likely win the delegate count for the night regardless of the result in HI.

So far trump has 59 delegates on the night. Hawaii is not yet in. Trump only needed 59 to stay on track to win the nomination. Nate Silver at 538 laid out a path to nomination for trump, Cruz, and Rubio. Trump has stayed on track the others have not

With 13% of the votes in Hawaii reporting, Trump is easily winning.
But there are so few Republicans there. What a liberal la la land that state is.

Trump only needed 59 to stay on track to the nomination. He already has that with Hawaii not in

When you look at the two anti-establishment candidates, Trump and Cruz, tonight the results are simply damning to the GOPe.
MI - 64% anti-establishment
MS - 75% anti-establishment
ID - 74% anti-establishment
So far Hawaii is about 74% anti-establishment too.

Explain please. How can he lose 3 of 4 and come out with more delegates?

Counting unhatched chickens.
If Cruz gets over 50% of the delegates in ID he gets them all.

Which did not happen as a matter of fact.
Compass swept three out of the four states and taken and even greater lead in the number of delegates.

Except he isn’t going to break 50%
With 90% of precincts reporting he is at 45% to break 50% he’d have to take basically 60% of the remaining votes.

If one candidate wins more than 50% of the National Convention Delegates, that candidate receives all the National Convention Delegates. [Idaho Republican Party State Rules. Idaho Rules for Selection of Delegates to the National Convention and State Convention. Article VI. Section 3.(a)]

It’s over for Cruz if Rubio and Kasich stay in through the March 15th primaries. Almost everything changes to winner-take-all starting next week. Trump has won 60% of the states so far without getting a majority of the vote and that’s about the same that he needs to do from this point on to win 1237 delegates.
