Chris Matthews went off on Ted Cruz again tonight for his claim that he has firsthand knowledge of news organizations withholding damning Donald Trump reporting until he’s the GOP nominee.
Cruz said the liberal media just can’t wait to pounce on Trump, but are waiting until they can do damage in the general election.
Matthews played the clip of Cruz saying all that, and then said, “I would love to know why we can’t use, occasionally, lie detectors.” He said Cruz just made things up and wondered what the hell he’s talking about.
He asked Eugene Robinson, “Have you ever heard of a major newspaper… sitting on a really good story they got because it’s not ripe enough politically?”

Cruz has a simple history. It is all in view now.
Trump has a business empire with many dealings, not all on the up and up with political figures, that have been out of public view. You think he bragged about owning politicians for nothing?

You’ve been around for along time. You know how the media works. McCain was the media’s best friend until he won the nomination. Trump has an empire to dig through and he’s bragged about buying politicians among other things. It won’t be squeaky clean under the hood...

The difference is McCain was at their mercy.

He's already demonstrated his ability to shake off their attacks. We're never going to get anywhere if the only guys we pick are the ones who can avoid fights. We need a guy that wins them.

IF we look to the "scandals" of the 2006 campaign, there was such collusion between the media and the DNC. It came out after the election in the investigation of the congressman texting an aide. The media and Democrats KNEW earlier than GOP leadership and decided to sit on it to use it late in the election cycle. Then they used the mantra about a culture of corruption that rises to the top ranks of the GOP ("They KNEW and did nothing!"). Two outed faggots and the partisan witchhunt of Tom DeLay. The Democrats had nothing but they recaptured Congress and tanked the economy.
In 2008, the DNC-MSM press kept news of John Edwards’ bastard love child out of the news cycle so that Hillary would be in an unwillable 3 way race for delegates. Edward’s campaign was protected. He was even awarded FATHER OF THE YEAR (the adulterous Hulk Hogan was up on the dais as well, his affair with his daughter’s best friend was not yet made public).
