Paul Ryan’s Plans Stopped Cold by Trump, Cruz Insurgency
breitbart ^ | March 8, 2016

Posted on 03/09/2016 4:09:40 AM PST by dennisw

Bloomberg’s Billy House writes that House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) 56% is “struggling to do the most basic duties of Congress” because the popularity of Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% has crippled his agenda.

From Bloomberg Politics:

It was never going to be easy for House Speaker Paul Ryan to cut through the noise of a presidential campaign and chart out a course of conservative policies for the Republican Party.

But the bombast and divisiveness of the presidential campaign has left Ryan struggling to do the most basic duties of Congress.

With the two Republican front-runners — Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz — effectively running against Congress and the rest of the Republican establishment, Ryan more than ever needs to deliver on some kind of agenda in his first full year as speaker. Otherwise, he could help cement Congress as a distinctly junior partner in a Trump or Cruz presidency.

His biggest problem is that the policies and rhetoric of his party’s presidential front-runners have become unusually out of step with a large portion of Republicans in Congress, notes Joshua Huder, a senior fellow at Georgetown University’s Government Affairs Institute.

“Ryan has to navigate what’s best for his conference amidst one of the more major upheavals of his party,” Huder said. “He’ll either need to lay low and let the fight play out in the presidential race, or he’ll need to outline priorities that protect his conference at the expense of his party’s nominee.”

Is that backwards or what? The agenda of RINOs like Ryan are the reason we are having an insurgency in the first place.

Paul Ryan Phones Trump, Cruz to Discuss ‘Bold Conservative’ Agenda

by Frank Thorp V

Less than a week after House Speaker Paul Ryan went after Republican front-runner Donald Trump for failing to disavow David Duke and the KKK, the former vice presidential nominee has spoken over the phone with the controversial candidate about developing a Republican agenda.

...”I am going to brief all of our presidential candidates on our agenda project,” Ryan told reporters last week, “The goal here is to have an election like we had in 1980, where we unite around bold ideas and we earn a mandate from the country so that we can get the country back on track. With that, I’d be happy to answer your questions.”

Who writes this stuff? Really? Doesn't Breitbart have editors?

If he's charting a conservative course, he can't help but help the Republican candidate. If he wants to keep rubber stamping Obama's agenda, that might cause a problem or two.

So this campaign helps no matter who wins among the good guys. It puts the country's sanctioned slide into the abyss in hiatus for most of the rest of this year, at least.

Paul Ryan is such a weak and pathetic stooge that under a President Trump you will find him submitting to the Trump agenda.

Paul Ryan is so pathetic that he might come out for the Trump Wall soon.

There’s always some excuse for not doing the right (and always hard) thing. Not buyin’ it this time, the last time, or the next time.

Paul Ryan needs to go away. Maybe he should take up drinking like Boehner. If he spends his time drunk in the gutter, he can do less damage.

We are not fools! Of course, Ryan’s plans have not been stopped. Nothing will stop them. This is nothing more than a hit piece against Trump and Cruz to show how damaging their practice of not going along to get along is to the daily business of the Republicans.

ALL of the GOP elites hate both Cruz and Trump simply because they can’t control them or “bait” them into joining the good old boy club.

By the way, I would prefer that Ryan be known as “Little Eddie Munster” because he looks like his twin brother.

Yes, Ryan feels the grip of the American voters around his testicles. But it’s too late. He has already revealed his true nature. He will never be trusted, and he will be kicked out of office by the voters at the first chance they get. He deserves nothing better.

“Look, we’re going to speak out for who we are and what we believe; we’re going to run on our beliefs, we’re going to run on our ideas,”

Pray tell Ryan, what are those beliefs and ideas. All we have seen is bluster and capitulation. GOP has been handed a majority and done nothing. They were handed the Senate and done less than nothing.

Maybe if they got off their knees under the half breed’s desk, they just might find they indeed do have a backbone. Not counting on it; just offering advice.

Wait, hasn’t he already showed that his agenda is to appease obama in fact while making conservative sounding but useless speeches at conferences?

Be a shame to impede that...

In a business meeting, when a tough influential NYer like Donald Trump smiles at you and shakes your hand, you’d better run.

When he look at you sternly and silently, that means he respects you and will do business with you.

We are not to be denied. Ryan and PreBus are just a couple of the reason’s that we have joined with Trump.

How smug they all were when the “Boehner” boys cooked up the bogus transfer of power and forced more of the same slop on me, my family and 300 million of my friends.

Finish them off Donald; do it with one of your biggest smiles!
