Laugh line of the morning comes from Cokie Roberts' Wikipedia entry: "Some have questioned Roberts' objectivity as a journalist." Some, indeed. On today's Morning Joe, NPR-ite Roberts, her eyes flashing with anger, asked Donald Trump whether he was "proud" of promoting racism among schoolkids: "There have been incidents of children, white children, pointing to their darker skinned classmates and saying 'you'll be deported when Donald Trump is president.' . . . Are you proud of that?"
Calling it a "very nasty question," Trump replied "I'm not proud of it because I didn't even hear of it. And I don't like it at all when I hear about it." Roberts said that it's been reported in many papers, presumably alluding to articles such as this and this.

Gee, I’d like to dig up her late father’s voting record as a Louisiana Dumbocrat. I bet we’d discover some interesting things when it came to race issues. He doesn’t need to run through the statistics themselves in his replies, but knowing them would give him more ammunition to answer these made-up gotcha questions. They’re asking questions (not even really asking questions, more like hurling accusations) which have false premises.

I just wish that one of these guys faced with this type of crap would get up and go over and deck the AH whomever and whatever gender they are. See, this will now be the narrative that gets run....Roberts calls out trump for allowing bullying. Then the next cycle, Trump denies any approval of bullying. Then the next cycle, news accounts point to instances of where there was racial bullying while Trump denies inciting it. on and on. A non story takes up a 24 hour cycle until some other ass starts another about something else.

That happens when you work without notes and "off the cuff". Your answers are much more straightforward and truthful, but when you are ambushed, you come of with a weak response.
