When my first daughter was that age, 40 years ago, I was an agnostic on the issue. I explained in age appropriate terms both sides of the issue to her.

At the end of my explanation her only response was, in shock, "Do you mean doctors kill babies?"

The only answer I had was yes. That was the start of my conversion to becoming firmly pro-life, with the life of the mother the only exception, and I wonder about that sometimes.

Yep. Try telling a 5-year old that the bump in that ladies belly is a baby - but only if she wants it.

That 5-year old will most likely give your the “yeah right!” look - like they know you’re trying to pull a fast one on them (and you are...).
