Is Rubio in or out? Is he staying for FL?

You have got to be kidding me? Watch a rerun of a rerun of a rerun when I can be watching the live stream of the short track races from Daytona?
Nope.

“Is Rubio in or out? Is he staying for FL?”

You’ll have to ask Cruz. He seems to have the inside track on those things.

Rubio’s last bow.

His mission is to take as hard a swing as possible before he suspends his campaign in the morning.

What are your limits when you’re not worried about the political optics of the thing? It should make for great TV.

If the anti-Trump folks are staging this right, it won’t be desperation crap from Rubio. It’ll be 50 coordinated hit pieces from Trump’s past that will overwhelm the ability to fact check later. Rubio will pontificate at length about how he talked with John Doe, whose working class family was destroyed by their interaction with Trump. That will be a real guy (or 3) conveniently at a press avail post debate.

John Doe will almost certainly be from Ohio.

Florida is done. Tonight’s debate will be about Ohio. For all the talk of a Rubio/Cruz alliance, the debate will seem like Kasich is Rubio’s new best friend.

Rubio’s objective, easily spelled out: take out 3-6% of Trump’s support in Ohio.

Then he’ll get out tomorrow because that will help Cruz in the non-FL, non-OH states on Tues and might bump Kasich another 1-2 points in OH.

What can a politician do with a national stage and no cares about how the polls will reflect his performance?

Should be a heck of a show.

Perhaps we should call this the Rubio Kamikaze debate.

Rubio is going to try and Criste Trump tonight.

Vanity:

I hope Trump doesn’t do a direct attack on Kasich in the debate tonight, as in calling him an absentee Governor that got lucky in Ohio due to fracking, that hasn’t won a single state, and shouldn’t even be on the stage.

Here’s why: Trump could effectively seal the deal if he wins the winner-take-all states Tuesday, and he’s very likely to - with the exception of Ohio - where Kasich poses a real threat as a favorite son.

Ohioans who like Trump but are somewhat loyal to Kasich may be turned off if Trump insults him, since he is generally seen as a decent guy.

But there is another way to win without the personal insults, which have worked so well so far: answer every question or attack, no matter what the substance, with the same argument - that the big campaign donors who fund the other candidates want to keep Trump from winning at all costs. - that the Bushes, Romney’s, PACs, K street lobbyists, are conspiring to stop Trump from getting the 1237 delegates so they can install Bush in a brokered convention. - that this us why they want Rubio to win Florida, Kasich to win Ohio, and Cruz to win NC. - that a vote for Kasich is a vote for a brokered convention for the lobbyists, and we won’t be able to make America great again.

I think he should use every single question as an excuse to repeating this point over and over again.

What does everyone think?

It’s not a real kamikazi because Rubio isn’t choosing this sacrifice.

More like, his plane is already hit and smoke streaking to the ground and his final act is to aim the crash where it can do the most damage.

My point being that there’s some nobility in choosing to give your life (campaign) to a greater cause. There’s no nobility, no choice here for Rubio. He was already in flames and free falling.

To take the kamikazi analogy one step further, Rubio fully intends to eject before Florida to preserve his viability for another day.

He’s not even planning on going down with his plane (current campaign).

No. There’s no nobility here.

That’s not to say that tonight won’t be a spectacular show! After all, there’s an explosion in the offing.

Oh my gosh not another one. When will it end? I hope I don’t succumb to watching another of these media carnival events which features GOP candidates obediently lining themselves up for media target practice which the candidates later complain about. And yet they keep coming.

I like your analysis. It’s a positive message and a message to voters to not let the elites pick the candidate.
