It used to be that the moderator would ask the audience not to applaud or boo, or otherwise take up time .. now it seems to be part of the show, and it’s really annoying. The ‘nets may revert back for the presidential debates and like the circus atmosphere in primaries.
The applause reminds me of applause on late night shows, even when the jokes are not funny.
