Republican presidential candidate Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) stated, “I believe we need to champion every able-bodied adult ought to be working, or actively looking for a job, and the entire purpose, every one of the welfare programs, even disability programs” in a town hall broadcast on Wednesday’s “The Kelly File” on the Fox News Channel.

The last time some junior Senator who was a Harvard lawyer with a questionable citizenship talked like that we got Obama. Different party, same attitude.

Cruz says this but he is lying. Cruz supports amnesty which takes jobs from Americans, and he supports bringing in 325,000 more H-1B foreign tech workers. So, while Ted talks about jobs, he means for foreigners, not Americans.

Trump talks about jobs for Americans!

Ole Ted 'low info' Cruzie counts on the fact that most folks don't know that his globalist owners bring in each year three times the number of immigrants than there are jobs available.

Now, if Cruzie ever made it to the general - doubtless, he would be confronted with an ad showing someone in a wheelchair being lectured by him that they should be looking for a job.

Speaking of 'low info', Ted is not properly informed that there are almost a hundred million working-age people not working. Tedder is also hiding the fact that his owners - like hedge fund Mercer - are shipping any decent paying jobs overseas. Way to go there 'un-Constitutional' Cruzie.

Drumpf’s voters are mostly overt and latent racists who think Drumpf will rid America of brown people and Democrats who KNOW he can’t win. Those will be harder to find in closed primaries and outside the South. When Rubio drops out, we’ll how Drumpf’s support looks. And if he does get more delegates by the convention, there’s no way he has a majority (he needs 60% of the remaining delegates for a majority). Drumpf and his low-info cult will find out that having ground game trumps unlimited free media exposure.

You’re arguing against a strawman here, FRiend, I already said that there’s probably abuse/overdependence and of course, abuse should be eliminated.

It’s not my fault that Ted Cruz said “maybe” disabled people shouldn’t do heavy manual labor.

This is totally unrealistic in a wealthy country.

Back in the golden age of the 50s, nearly no middle-class women worked. They all stayed at home and took care of the kids and the house. You could live on one income.

Today, we are even richer, but people are working much harder. More jobs, more hours.

But still there are many people who, for various reasons, are able to live without working. They may be students, they may be rich, they may have some way of getting by. It is very difficult to get everyone to work.

Do you have a problem with these remarks?
Only that they're just remarks with no specifics.
They are more aspirational than a hard and fast cutoff of benefits likely to shock the system
Any idiot can recognize a problem, even Ted Cruz, but what, as President, besides talk and debate, does he plan to do about it.

Maybe those of us that aren't pretending to be wrapped in the armor of Christ aren't informed because we aren't mind readers getting any information from the likes of Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz knows but can't say it that the only person giving/having the real answer to his "remarks" is Donald Trump.

Labeling people who disagree with them is a favorite liberal trick. For example if you are against gay marriage you are a homophobe. Use of this ill-defined word is meant to inspire fear in those who dare to disagree and silence them. The use of the word “establishment” is meant to do the same. I am not afraid of labels. If refusing to cast a vote for Trump because he says Planned Parenthood does wonderful things ( they do not) makes me an establishment hack then I am proud to be one! That is my line in the sand. I am for protecting life not “my boy”

This is why we think half the Trumpcult consists of LIVs. Now you're pathetic defense of this stuff is why we think the other half of you are con-artists yourself.

Why doesn’t Trumpbart defend their reporters when they’re assaulted by Drumpf’s campaign manager?

Check the BLS, the average hours worked per week is 34. There is no abundance of good paying, full-time jobs. Cruz is saying the other guy’s voters are ‘low info’ to deflect the fact that he has the GOPe, fleeced flock, uninformed voting block.

Probably, nothing. It is abused. That used to be pretty common knowledge before people like you signed up and made Freerepublic into Trumprepublic.

Crooked bribe taking politicians like Cruz created the trade situation we are in. Cruz has done nothing to help, just lined his pockets with more graft. American made goods can’t compete in the current crooked trade situation created by graft taking crooks like Cruz.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Voting for crooked Cruz is insanity.

If you read anything - anything at all - you would know that part of Trump's program is to lower the tax of dollars reinvested in this country. Nobody is making clothing here, are they? So, what's he going to do, build a factory to make a couple items in his line.

Companies like Carrier, Ford etc actually are the factories. Get on the reality program why don't you.

What a load of drumpf. While Cruz was fighting against crony capitalism (look it up), Drumpf was funding crony capitalism because he is a crony.

I have been asking myself this for a while now. I really have been thinking the DU people have all gotten themselves freerepublic accounts lately. How else do you explain why so many are rabidly supporting a serial adulterer who praises Planned Parenthood?
