Marco Rubio Aide Urges Supporters to Back John Kasich in Ohio
NY Times ^ | March 11, 2016 | Maggie Haberman and Jeremy W. Peters

Posted on 03/11/2016 10:34:17 AM PST by kevcol

Alex Conant, Mr. Rubio’s spokesman, made the comments in an interview with CNN. He said that he hoped supporters of Mr. Kasich and of Senator Ted Cruz would support Mr. Rubio in his home state primary in Florida, and that he would suggest Mr. Rubio's backers in Ohio do the same by supporting Mr. Kasich there.

"I'm just stating the obvious," Mr. Conant said. "If you are a Republican primary voter in Ohio and you want to defeat Donald Trump, your best chance in Ohio is John Kasich, because John Kasich is the sitting governor, he's very close to Donald Trump in some of the polls there."

Is it safe to assume Rubio pulled out of the election?

He doesn’t want to win, he and the rest only want to block Trump at this point.

That is the primary pillar of all of their campaign platforms; their vision for the future of America. Stop Donald Trump from getting the nomination.

Pathetic.

Not when they find out he voted for NAFTA, a CommonCore advocate, and turns a blind eye to the illegal invasion.

C ya John!

There was a poll done a few months back of second choice candidates.

So these idiots assume anyone who would vote for Rubio would have Kasich or Cruz as a second choice (or vice versa).

I’m not sure how this works. OH voters who were supporting Rubio were looking for an alternative to Kasich, the known quantity. I’m wondering if a percentage of them will say “*crew you Marco” and vote for Trump. OH folks who don’t prefer Kasich....we’ve all got our reasons. And OH folks don’t like to be told what and who to vote for.

His internals show it. But rather than being honest about it, he'd making a Hail Mary pass via this spokesman to convince any non-Trump voters to vote for him in Florida and Kasich in Ohio.

That is likely to work about as well as the graphic in post #9 shows.

Rubio is desperate now. His internal polls are probably stating the obvious. He knows that if Trump wins both Florida and Ohio, that the race is essentially over.

Cruz may put up a good fight, bit without something very significant, it will be all but impossible for him to overtake Trump, even if both Rubio and Kasich throw in behind Cruz after next Tuesday.

so Rubio, recognizing this, it trying to get the Ohio voters to do what his voters in Florida is not going to be able to do.

Then Trump should state that Rubio is doing this and that their vote here in FL is a wasted vote and it shows how desperate the establishment has become wen they are now using cruz, Kasich and Rubio t stop Trump after their meeting
