Cruz: Trump Is Manipulating 'Low-Information' Voters

Ted Cruz accused Republican front-runner Donald Trump of taking advantage of 'angry, low-information voters.'

“Listen, Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry and they see him as an angry voice,” Cruz told “The Brody File” in an interview conducted Wednesday and published Thursday.

Cruz, who has racked up wins in Idaho, Maine and Kansas in the past week, said his campaign performs better among informed, engaged voters.

“When they inform themselves, they realize his record,” Cruz said. “He’s what they’re angry at. He is the corruption, and if you want someone to stand up to Washington, the only one who has been doing so in this race is me.”

The Texas senator acknowledged Trump has done well in Southeastern states — he’s won Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. But Cruz said his campaign has done well in that pocket of the country, too, often coming in second to the New York billionaire but still picking up delegates.

“Now Donald has a harder problem in the West,” Cruz said. “It’s interesting. I mean, his location, he does well in the Southeast. He does well with a certain demographic of voter. Donald gave a press conference where he said, to quote him, ‘I love the poorly educated.’” Cruz suggested Trump is “taking advantage of his voters because” they’re angry. “I understand what they’re angry about, but, Donald, if you’re angry at the corruption of Washington, you don’t solve it by supporting someone who has been enmeshed in the Washington corruption for 40 years,” he said.

Hmmmm, I guess I’m a low-information voter. The truth? It’s not easy to recognize the next big thing sometimes. Trump will dismantle the cabal in Washington. Two years from now Beck (God, if he’s still around) Levin, etc, will all be frantically back-filling the holes that they have dug.

And he nor refers to them as the less educated. Apparently you weren’t paying attention since in that same speech trump said he was winning with highly educated voters

You are so right....and Free Republic has become this:

""""an echo chamber

You will see fewer and fewer postings by Cruz supporters these days, just take notice. Those that post an article are more often than not banned. Opposition to Trump shall not be allowed.

trump mocks, threatens, calls names, encourgaes punching.....has already said he’ll gut the First and yet you apparently drool over every word.
The only thing important to him is people think his penis is big.
My mom used to tell me if a man tells who how great it’s going to be, it won’t be.

I’d say that Trump’s history of donations proves that he is not to be trusted by Constitutionalists. Supporters display a willing suspension of disbelief which I can’t comprehend.

“But when Trump calls his own voters poorly educated.”

No, he did not. Your crap is completely out of context.

You and the rest of the doom and gloom brigade--`FR is disintegrating, `we're being infiltrated by Spetznatz paratroopers who are putting fluoride in our coffee'.... Let's face it. The dogs in more than a dozen states have had a bowl of Cruz, and a bowl of Trump. They like the Trump and are turning their noses up at the Cruz kibbles. You`re sounding like the dingbats on the left promising to move to Canada if Trump wins. Give us a break. Please, stop whinging. smallest violin photo: Violin VIOLIN.jpg

An analogy of Trump after the debate. “I’ve been an arsonist my entire life, so I am the only one up here that knows how to put out fires”.

And, again, I don’t agree. That’s how you do business in a city. I know people in Dayton, OH, at far lower levels who have to do the same payola.

He said he loved them all-—highly educated, low educated, etc. I have known people who had advanced degrees but they didn't have a lick of common sense. I have also seen people who only went to high school and they could make anything, fix anything. It all depends on how those people use their brains. My dad was born in 1901 and they went to 8th grade. He could repair anything, make things, etc. He had more sense than a lot of these people who have degrees because they do not have any sense. Let me give you another example. We have a small company which requires workers with very specific skills. We have hired people who had degrees but could not do the work. They had never made anything in their life. They had to be left go. It does not make a person better just because they have a degree. Common sense is more important than any degree.

“They go all apoplectic over Cruz talking about “low information voters”, but not a peep about Trump saying he doesn’t want to return any federal land to the states because we can’t be trusted to take care of it.”

Trump’s statement was about federal lands. Cruz’s statement was insulting Trump supporters. There is a difference.

I will take any test that Cruz takes—we’ll see who is the low information person.

“My mom used to tell me if a man tells who how great it’s going to be, it won’t be.”

Well that means you also have to rule out Cruz, Kasich, and Rubio because they promise an almost end of history administration.

Would you really vote for a candidate if he merely claimed he would do an okay job?
