You said “religions”, not “churches”, in post #6. I will say there is a dichotomy between those, and that some of the latter start with a socialist bent while others do not but mutate towards it.

Yes, but unfortunately our “organized religions (aka churches)” run far afield from the Bible. For too many it’s simply another type of “business,” and to “stay in business,” you need “patrons (aka parishoners, etc.),” so you set up an illegal scam to “import patrons” from Mexico and all points South. That’s where a big chunk of the Sociaism comes in. So for me, there’s a big difference between “believing in God,” and “going to church.” You need the former, but not the latter. I’ve never been into paying someone to tell me “I’m not good enough, but for a few bucks, they will make me better.”
