YMMV

Indeed. I categorically reject the assertion that ANY exercise of free speech in ANY WAY mitigates violence unless that speech violates the "reasonable man" standard for employing deadly force in self defense.

Obviously, you have a different (and hopefully legally defensible) standard for abridging free speech.

So what is it?

First, I don't think "mitigates" means what you think it means.

Second, I said that the protesters are wrong to deny Trump his say.

Finally, this is yet another dodge of the real issue that no Trump supporters want to address, namely, he LIKES the hostility. I've read others here (Trump supporters) say precisely that in an admiring way. I've mentioned several instances above that support that idea and there are several more. And now this just this morning " TRUMP to @MeetThePress' @ChuckTodd: "I've instructed my people to look into" paying legal fees for man who threw suckerpunch on Thurs". Now if you don't consider that an affirmative support of thuggishness then we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Ask yourself why he hasn't given a full-throated denouncement of violence on both sides then ask yourself if he still deserves your vote. And if you answer yes, ask yourself what that says about you.
