You’ve been around, remember the Bush, “A day in the Life” threads?
Anyone who dared to disagree became a target, calls for banning etc., who didn’t tow the Bush line. It was pretty amazing stuff. Lots of folks got tossed and it went on and on.
Whats amazing is, the god they worship (Trump) was a moron who called for Bush’s impeachment...
The Day in the Life threads were strictly for fans to chit chat amongst themselves. At the time lots of people felt good about the Bush presidency. Those threads were not for open discourse. Sometimes, even on a generally political website, people just want to talk among friends and like minded people and not argue. There are many threads and topics on FR that are not the place to argue.
I don’t know why it’s difficult to understand why someone would be upset for another essentially raining on their parade. No one is forced to participate in anything on here, and there are plenty of threads and topics that encourage the back and forth, so it is never necessary to rain on a parade.
