Breaking: Cruz Negotiating With Trump for VP Spot
A high ranking Cruz campaign official has told Elect Leaders that Sen. Cruz is in negotiations with Mr. Trump to become his Vice Presidential Nominee after Rubio dropped out Tuesday. Sen. Cruz has been the most consistent performer in primaries behind Trump. They are seeing the writing on the wall and want to negotiate from a point of strength which will evaporate over time.
The official stated Mr. Trump is interested in using Sen. Cruz’s ground game in the general election, likes his appeal to the conservative base and his stance on immigration. Of the other options for VP none hold as strong of an opinion on immigration outside of Governor Jan Brewer from Arizona who is also being considered.
Senator Cruz in exchange for his support is wanting to be named to the Supreme Court if an opening occurs while Mr. Trump is president. Mr. Trump does not see this as an issue and a small price to pay to bring Sen. Cruz his fundraisers, donors and staff on board
Trump’s achilles heel is with working women and maybe more mainstream suburban voters. Cruz does nothing for that- in fact he is scarier than Trump. \

I think Trump and Cruz talked about this before the Primaries even began, each knew the other was playing a role. And if anything, Cruz exceeded expectations because of Trump at the expense of the other candidates.
A lot of Kabuki Theater between the two, I’ve been convinced of that since Day One.

If neither is the top of the ticket after the convention, I’d like them both to run united as a 3rd party ticket. I’d wager in that scenario, the GOPe ticket would finish an ugly third place.

Trump wouldn't consider a Canadian for VP. Unless you see Cruz making an attempt to have his eligibility clarified, don't even consider it.
IMHO, Cruz is NOT eligible.

If he (Trump) does get over this than it’s all politics! Trump would do this in order to shift to the “middle” and still be able to keep the right of the base! I would’ve thought Rubio would’ve reached out to Cruz for a Cruz/Rubio ticker? Who knows.....

If Cruz doesn’t join, or at least make amends with Trump and convince his supporters to do the same, we face a convention fight that will destroy the country. And Trump supporters will NOT forget it, and will ensure Cruz has no future in politics... EVER!

That’s the $50 question. I am not going to say they are making this up, but I am not going to put much stock in this until it is repeated by other sources. If it’s true this is going to get leaked and reported all over very quickly. We will likely know by the end of the day if there is any truth to it.
