We conservatives are a minority in the Republican Party.

The Majority are Populists.

Happily, the RINO Liberals are the smallest group.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon us relatively few conservatives to take the next several years to inform and encourage our Populist brethren to embrace actual conservatism. That’s a real job. It starts now.

Good luck, and G-d Bless!

Its 'populism' by definition.

There's always been a significant percentage of them here.

But like you I'm surprised at just how many there are.

You are no better than the sycophants that suck up to Obuma. You can't see that Trump is just pushing your buttons with his rhetoric - just like Obuma pushed his sycophants buttons.

Have a nice day.

I have been on FR since 1998.

I am an avid Ted Cruz supporter, and did all I could to help him achieve the primary victory he had in Idaho, which is where I have lived for the past 20 years. Originally, I am a native Texan.

The Donald Trump phenomenon is a direct result of the GOPe’s behavior over the last 15 or more years, and of Trump’s ability to tie into that anger and frustration.

despite what he may have done in the past, if you go and read his proposals in detail, if those things are enacted, they would be good for America.

Read my

Donald Trump Phenomenon
http://www.jeffhead.com/Trump-Phenom.htm

and, My Open Letter to Mitt Romney
http://www.jeffhead.com/Mitt-Letter.htm

The fact is that people believe that Donald trump, irrespective of all else, including his past, will actually do the things he says.

And if he will, it will be good for our country.

Senator Cruz’s dual citizenship with Canada until May, 2014, sort of dampens my enthusiasm for him as a presidential candidate.

You're a n00b and not used to primary/election seasons on FR; that's what's happened to you...not to FR.

You believe that this is "bad"? You should have seen FR in '07 and '08!

You missed the DRUDGE WARS, the DRUDGE& LUCIANNE WARS, and so much else, it's not worth listing.

And the disgusting waste of bandwidth space, what with all of these whinging, whining, STUPID vanities is appalling.

Phyllis Schlafly, Jeff Sessions, and Franklin Graham would disagree with you.

Keep in mind I am not even American, but here’s my take:

Trump may certainly not be that pure conservative, even by a long shot, but he seems to want to get there. Has Jeff Sessions been completely fooled? Phyllis Schafly? Palin? Dr. Jeffress? Jerry Falwell Jr.?

Trump is surrounding himself with the right people and he’s showing the backbone to fight.

I started out liking Cruz, but realized pretty quickly that he’d never win the general election. Sorry, but there’s something very unsettling about him. He sounds so much like a slick and phony lawyer/politician. I think the left would chew him up and spit him out. They won’t do that with Mr. Trump. Other way around.

I totally agree.

Mr. Trump is deceiving a ton of people at this site who should know better.

Rest assured Trump will cut DEALS with the DC establishment should he be elected President.

That's been the little purple elephant in the back of my mind all season, too.
