Hillary Clinton said Thursday that she feels the United States has "done a really good job securing the border."

Clinton, while fundraising in Tennessee and Georgia, called into a Phoenix radio show to discuss the state of the Democratic nomination fight and a number of issues that matter in Arizona, the next major state to vote.

"I think we've done a really good job securing the border," Clinton said. "I think that those who say we haven't are not paying attention to what was done the last 15 years under President Bush and President Obama."

During the interview, Clinton said "immigration from Mexico has dropped considerably, it's just not happening any more."

"I voted to secure the border when I was in the Senate. I think we have accomplished a lot of that work," Clinton said. "Now, I think it is time to turn our attention to comprehensive immigration reform."

I think she is correct. Why immigrate when you can just step across illegally and not sweat it? Why wait when you can go now and get all the great benefits, drop a kid, link of with extended family, etc.? And eventually, someone is going to come along and tell you that you should be considered a legal immigrant anyway and give you amnesty. They say we are already at 12 million. How many more can get here before the great giveaway? Guess we'll see.

They use "net immigration" (people coming in less people returning) to come up with this claim. However, this ignores the fact that those leaving are likely those who have considerable resources, built up during the years they worked here, while many of those coming in have few resources, and at best will be a drain on our social programs, and at worst, some may be engaging in criminal activity.

So out with the good, and in with the bad is not something that you can net to zero.
