Well those 164 Rubio delegates will be nice.

After some of the washington cartel fall in behind Cruz, Rubio will follow suit.

This will give him Rubio & Graham. Two of the Gang of 8. He needs McCain next.

Scrivener’s error. Sorry. Meant to say “shorten the delegate gap”. The closer Cruz is to Trump in terms of delegate #s the stronger becomes his bargaining power and concomitantly the justification for a delegate changing to Cruz on the second ballot.

Q1. I doubt Cruz would accept the VP position as he thinks Trump is an ass clown. That is my opinion.
Q2. Since you don't care that Trump donated to Hillary, I don't care if the GOPe give Cruz money and endorsements. Cruz has shown he has core principals that he does not waver from.
As for why Cruz supporters are not engaging with you, too often on this website Trump supporters are so incredibly nasty and rude.

Don’t think it will make a difference as the more action there is to isolate Trump, the stronger he appears. Sort of like that old Star Trek episode where an alien gets stronger the more fighting there is between Kirk and his crew and Kang and his. Trump seems to have the same reaction.

According to Nate Silver, even if Trump were to come up short, he is on pace to walk into the convention with the most votes in GOP history (20M), more than Romney (10M) & McCain (9M) combined - and, at minimum, 400 delegates ahead of Cruz.
Good luck giving it to Cruz.
As Trump said, Nice little convention you got there. Be a shame if something happened to it.

Nothing like the support of a back-stabbing, establishment RINO to burnish Cruz’ credentials as a DC outsider.

Here, here. Somehow it’s different for a guy to donate money over many years to many different leftists, yet all is forgiven by a few speeches over the past few years. Yet Ted garners the support of the GOPe over the past few weeks, and now he is abjectly BAD.

“Cruzs whole deal is how principled he is. Well, you cant be principled and be on the GOP teat at the same time.”
Cruz is still principled, and the GOP are only backing him now because they have no choice.
Cruz didn’t change to get their support.

I've wondered if "suspending" his campaign, instead of closing it, gives him leverage to re-enter the race should it go to a contested convention? Does anyone know the Republican primary "rules" on that?
Doesn't make a difference if it goes to a second ballot, lots of non-candidates like Ryan could be in. Suspending is SOP to better deal with campaign expenditures and debts.

Huh? Only delegates count for anything, ‘votes’ are meaningless.

Fair enough, thanks for sharing your insights. The rude and nasty stuff works both ways, but I realize that’s no excuse.

I don’t know those rules. I wonder if ‘suspending’ a campaign leaves the funding funnel$$$ open for the donors to keep contributing thinking they may have some influence later.
