What Ted is doing makes no sense to those of us who supported him early on and promoted his outsider image.
I still believe he WAS a true outsider who dared to inform the American people of the gross corruption in Congress.
But something changed causing him to act unpredictably.
I think that something was campaign debt amassed by some awful persons that he hired to run his national campaign.
Ted had no national organization to put him on top and he didn’t have the media savvy to portray his persona as appealing to the general electorate. So he hired consultants who were awful to his image and to his campaign treasury.
Now he is owned. He is not able to be Ted Cruz. He must do what he’s told or he is ruined for life. His family’s future in on the line too. His wife does not come from old money, so there’s no place to turn to. He’s trapped.
His only role now is to act on behalf of the establishment players to stop Trump in a contested convention. He will not be nominated in a contested convention. So he is now the tool of those who own him. If he should suspend, he will be financially ruined. He has no other course to follow.
Ted Cruz has no options.
But there is one possibility that can buy Ted’s freedom. That would be an offer by Donald Trump to retire Ted’s campaign debt and offer him a place in the Trump administration.
But should such an offer ever be made, it won’t be tomorrow. It will only happen if the Trump campaign is short of the 1237 delegates.
Bottom line is Ted is owned. Who ends up owning him will determine his fate.
