I don't think he was promised the white house. I would think he was offered something else. I think the conversation went something like "Take as many delegates as you can to stop Trump from getting the nomination outright and name your job". He'll get some lifetime cushy job....probably promised supreme court justice and a clear path for confirmation from both parties.

I think you do not understand the meaning nor the danger of corporatist or globalist. What you describe is not what Cruz and our betters want.
Corporatist is where big business money buys the politicians. Citizens United gave more. We have it big time now.
Globalist is where counties and their sovreignty are absorbed into one entity like the European Union ruled by an elite and a huge bureaucratic monster.
It is nothing like ordinary corporations (trust busted when get too big) and fair and free trade which is the backbone of a fairly regulated capitalism.
