This is such bogus baloney. Funny it comes out right now when Utah is about to vote in the primaries.
What do you see in your crystal ball for Arizona?
I think the point that people are making is that it’s inconceivable that a bunch of right wing Mormons are ever likely to vote for an atheistic abortionist lesbo commie hag like the Hilda beast instead of Trump and that any poll that claims such a thing is absolute bullshiite put up by rabid Romneyites attempting to buffalo the voters with gaslight horse dung. Got it?
They don’t hate Trump, they love weed. Bernie gets the weed vote.
Funny how any discussion of Utah brings the batty bigots out of their slimy holes.
The Mormons are just all railed up at the moment because of Romney working them up. All this will blow over in time and they will vote for Trump in the fall.
I think Hillary would prefer to run against Cruz as all she would have to do is run the McCaskill-Akin playbook. He’s too conservative. He wouldn’t let you have an abortion. He’s a religious kook. Trump is a totally unknown quantity and they know they don’t have a strategy as they have no idea where the next hit would be coming from.
Well...Trump is not as cool as a rising in the priesthood or the fullfillment of science fiction prophecy after all. Cuckoo Cuckoo. Uh, before anyone attempts to defend the latest Beck/Cruz lunacy, just keep in mind Ted Creep has yet to disavow anything Glen Jerk says.
The urbanized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, ie. Salt Lake City, has slipped further and further into a liberalized hell hole while the rest of Utah remains rock-ribbed conmservative. I submit it’s the influence of the the University of Utah and to a lesser extent BYU down the road a piece from Salt Lake. When the struggle of day to day life ceases and comfort ensues, thought turns to how best to accomodate your enemies. Mohammedanism is anti-thetical to the mere existance of the LDS+, or any other branch of loving Christian life.
I once had great respect for Brother Romney but his politics are as much poisonous to me now as that reptilian Kasich.
I have advised my brethren in Utah to vote Trump and ignore the hysterical warnings but few will listen and if the latest polls are an indication it will be a Cruz victory. But not for long.
It would be interesting to know where the sample of the poll is from. My comment meant no dis-respect to Mormons such as yourself, but was a reflection of what I saw in this poll and the one that showed Trump getting 11% in the caucus. The who thing seems strange after Romney’s rude personal remarks, and Trump’s Utah numbers apparently drop where most everywhere else in the US they go up
He won’t lose Utah, don’t worry. Texas and Utah are sure things. They will mostly vote R, or not show up if they really hate Trump.
Answering “I’d vote for Hillary” on a phone poll and actually making the effort to show up on election day are two different things. No hardcore Republican is going to vote for Hillary.
So, Wiltard Romney and the Utahrds have poisoned the well in a state that is key only to its residents?
BigEd,
Not even sure why Romney is intervening in this matter. His home is in Michigan, or is it Massachusetts, or whatever Mexican colonia his father’s birthplace was. But Utah? Yes, he helped save the winter Olympics from fiscal calamity and as a result is a hero to many Utahns but those who live outside the SLC metro would be far more inclined to vote Trump than Cruz even if endorsed by Romney.
On another note. I continue to be amused by the amount of air time and newsprint that the Trump campaign has claimed. That in itself is a story that in the final analysis will be front and center should DT win the Presidency.
If Trump were hated anywhere near what this article suggests, why would Speaker Hughes endorse him just days before the primary? That would be political suicide. Makes no sense. Also, thousands came to SLC rally for Trump last week. Trump must have gotten every single suporter in the state to that rally! Not saying Cruz won’t win the state —now that he has officially declared as a Mormon prophet.
Romney lost Utah to Obama by 20? Wrong. Romney had 73% to Obama's 25%. Were you thinking of another state?
I don’t know for sure, but I think they do get paid a little. They’ve got enough advertisements on the site where they’d have to be bringing in at least a little money (actually they’ve got way to many ads on that site, thank goodness for ad block!)
The article puts a lot of weight on Utah - it’s “Icon Mormon” has come out against trump and they are following - perhaps they’re as dumb as many others who would consider an Obama or Hillary to be “no different or worse than who we have left on our side” ... there’s no fixing stupid and we have evidence of that salient fact every day.
Massachusetts is what I meant
RE: The article puts a lot of weight on Utah
Of course, the poll is a Utah poll.
I agree that it is unlikely that the Trump would lose to Hillary in 2016. But it is likely to be closer than Romney vs. Obama in 2012. That’s logical. But unlikely is not impossible.
What isn’t logical is the denial that right now the polls are showing otherwise and therefore they are wrong, biased or corrupt. I don’t believe that for a minute. They are what they are and the news is not good for Trump. He will have to do some work in a state where any other candidate could just mail it in.
