China’s ambassador to Indonesia is being summoned over a standoff involving a trawler in the South China Sea, an incident an international expert described as so serious it could alter Indonesia’s foreign policy.

Susi Pudjiastuti, Indonesia’s minister for fisheries and maritime affairs, told reporters he would summon the Chinese ambassador, Xie Feng, on Monday to discuss a Chinese fishing trawler accused of illegally fishing in Indonesian waters.

Indonesian authorities attempted to capture the trawler on Saturday and arrest the Chinese crew. But they were stopped by a Chinese coast guard boat that reportedly “rammed” the trawler and pushed it back into the South China Sea, according to a report Monday in the Jakarta Post. Indonesia still has the crew in custody, Susi said.

China’s foreign ministry disputes Indonesia’s version of events. It issued a statement saying the trawler was operating “in traditional Chinese fishing grounds” before it was “attacked and harassed by an armed Indonesian ship”, prompting the Chinese coast guard to offer assistance.

Argentina’s navy sank a Chinese trawler last week.

I believe that fishing boats ignoring national waters is how the Chinese started claiming Filipino waters.

As we fade away into third world status China will assume world leadership....economically & militarily first & then down the line culturally. They are well entrenched in Africa. They are moving people into parts of Siberia & the Russians are not putting up much of a fight about it, though this is not generally talked about, or even known in the West.

China has installed a military base in Argentina & has an eye on the rest of South America. China is creating a series of floating islands they will be used as military bases and building a modern navy that will in time dwarf ours. They did this all on our back using the BS called “free trade” over the last 30+ years that have gutted us.

Late 70’s, Japan was going to rule the world, us Engineers were told to learn Japanese so we could keep up on the latest innovations. Reagan got elected, Japan imploded. Besides the Japanese ex, we survived. China is about to implode, elect Cruz or Trump, America’s last days aren’t here yet.

Indonesia? Add that to Japan,Viet Nam, P.I. Taiwan. Seems they’re on the march as they stack up enemies. Where will we be as the ‘allies’ have been taking advantage of us? Argentine fishing boat? Where did this happen?
