What’s wrong with Trump and Rudy being from the same State?
The two of them could clean up the US.

DONALD/RUDY TICKET?

To keep a single state from having too much "executive power", the Constitution (Article II) prevents electors in the Electoral College from voting for a president and vice-president who are both from their same home state.

However, there are some convoluted and intricate caveats involved which would make this scenario possible and not illegal or unconstitutional.

It's so involved, one has to look it up and study it for two hours. It's totally unlikely to happen, but it can be done.

When Texan Bush2 ran and his veep pick, Texan Cheney ended up on the same ticket, it was only because W and Cheney didn't want to go through the nigh-impossible and rather messy procedure, so they solved the problem by Cheney claiming residence in another state. The rest is history.
