Substantial parts of Trump's speech were political. He slammed Hillary, Obama, and the UN. He also talked up the foreign policy positions he would take as president, which is also a political point.
Now, as to being in "campaign" mode against his opponents in the primary race, Trump was not.
Just nitpicking Mr. Brody's unqualified use of the word "political."
