And let’s not forget that NASTO and the USA were fighting FOR the muslims and AGAINST the Christians in Bosnia.

I agree that a strong Europe is in America's best interests. However, they must be willing to spend the vast majority of the funds for the defense of their continent. Like Britain in the 19th Century, naval support should be our strong suit, along with air support and nuclear weapons. The boots on the ground should be European ones, not American. In special occasions like terrorist mopups, U.S. special forces should be used to augment European efforts.

It didn’t take long for him to jump the shark.

So how is our investment in NATO working? I would be willing to bet you we also pay more than any other country....

“Trump said NATO should PAY their fair share for US interventions and equipment. No more freebies.”

I agree with that, and also feel that it is about time the rest of the free world stops trashing the US and starts thanking the US. It’s way past time to stop the ridiculous rhetoric about the US being the bully of the world. We are just over 70 years from when US soldiers died on European soil, and crashed the gates of the concentration camps to free the survivors, but we are labeled as the great evil in the world by many on the left - including those in our own nation. Let them think about what the world could potentially look like if there were no free US there to defend freedom.

Trump has always said that our allies are not pulling their weight. This is not breaking news. It’s in his standard stump speech. Ridiculous attack by Lyin Ted.

The tactical decisions on what forces are needed should be made by those best suited to make them.

So what part of “common sense” involves the U.S. pay the lions share for the defense of the E.U., that is importing the very terrorists that are BOMBING them today?

And explain to us, oh smart one, how the hell NATO works against terrorists groups?

The only frigging zealots are the ones that have convinced themselves that Cruz is some genius on EVERYTHING, and that no rational person could possibly have an alternative view.

Europe has a larger manpower and larger economy than the US. I fail to see why we should babysit those feminized, emasculated, whining sissies.

Maybe they should learn to pee standing up for a change instead of sitting down to pee, and learn how to kick in doors instead of holding hands singing “kumbaya” during candlelit vigils and weeping for their dead.

It is striking that this candidate continues to use the Kerry 2004 campaign strategy of chasing headlines to attack his opponent.

You don’t see because you don’t want to see. It is clearly implied that Trump is somehow responsible for upsetting jihadists with his AIPAC speech. So upset, they decided to attack NATO. A blatant lie.

Cruz can’t do anything right.

What is important is our word.

Without our word we can no longer claim any moral authority about anything.

Which means we might as well forget about being a world leader.

There are members of NATO who would really need our help if things went really sour. Like Poland - one of our best friends.

I don't like promising to help someone like a big brother, and when my little brother gets into a real jam, I don't show up.

America is better than that.

“So, you are for abandoning our friends?”

Friends pick up the check once in a while. Europe, not so much.

If they can afford to take in, house, feed, and care for a couple million 7th century savages they can afford to pay for their own defense.

It appears that Cruz thinks throwing more US Money at NATO, where NATO members aren’t pulling their own financial weight when they are capable of it, is the answer. That’s Ted, the DC beltway politician, speaking.

If they want American help, Europe should try to kill as much of the Islamic scum themselves as they can. Provided Europe is interested in defending itself, we can lend a hand.

The problem is that Europe doesn’t care about defending itself, as proven by NATO’s complete absence in addressing Islam. Even as the enemy has grown bold and has increased the rate of terrorist attacks, Europe would rather cater to the religion of multiculturalism instead of doing what needs to be done.

It would be a better use of America’s resources to nuke Muslim religious sites such as Mecca and shore up our own border instead of helping pussies who wouldn’t dare to kill a Muslim in order to save their country. Until parties such as UKIP, AfD, and National Front comprise a majority of their countrymen, Europe needs to learn about Islam the hard way.

I agree with both Trump and Cruz - no we cannot simply walk away from NATO not with Vlad playing footsie with his subs off our Atlantic coast.

But yes - we can no longer afford to pay for Europe's defense. It not only is a burden to US Taxpayers it creates negative incentive for the Europeans to maintain defensive forces.

So both TC and DT are correct - insist that Euros pick up more of the $$ and we will stay partners.
