Some states like Michigan consider any gun made before 1898 as an antique and not a firearm. At least it was that way 5 years ago when I was there. An old black powder cap and ball 6 shooter could be carried concealed without a permit.

The subject of the show was the penalty for crimes against children. They met with the father of a girl who’d been raped. The rapist was about to be paroled. They asked him how he felt about that.
The next thing they showed was the father in a field with a cap and ball revolver and a couple of his friends.
